Women who love to ski has never been my experience, if I waited around to find someone who actually liked to ski I would still be skiing the green circles. So a couple of weekends ago I was excited because......
One of the women I golf with has a house at MT Snow VT (she doesn't ski) so last fall during golf season a bunch of us planned a ski trip. When the time came it was just me and two other women who were going to ski.
It's been a few years since they skied because one had a one piece bright purple ski suite with a matching head band,the 80's look. There was also a problem with fit ,she put on weight since last wearing it so she couldn't breath which doesn't help when trying to ski.
Now her in that ski suite was funny,we joked and laughed about it,then off to the slope.
When we get to the ski area it didn't take long for some wise ass kid to say "I love your outfit where did you get it" then his friends chime in. For a second she thought he meant it till I jumped in about how we loved his baggy ass ski pants. Only we can make fun of our friends!
It was then to the rental shop, one women wanted to try some newer skis, then finally the lift. They only wanted to ski green,first time out in awhile, I can understand. I get out the trail map so we all know where were going because I don't want to be accused of taking them down a blue.
Were going to take the lift to the top of the MT and take a green trail around and down. We make it to the bottom then take another lift back up which puts us back on the same green trail.
I thought they were capable of blue but no way were they going on blue so we came back down on the green trail. Then it's "were tired we need a break",so I tell them I am taking a couple more runs I'll meet you in the lodge.
I meet them in the lodge, their trying to figure out how to get back to the main base without taking the lift. I tell them you have to go up meaning lift and ski across, so it's back on the lift.
We make it to the bottom in turtle time, they head to drop off rentals then the bar for apre ski, so I tell them I am taking one more run I'll meet you in the bar. It was now snowing really hard and the snow was piling up, so I had to take that last run. Fun!
We meet in the bar,have a really fun time,head back to the house to hook up with the non skiing women. We order take out then head back out to hear a Jimmy Buffet cover band.
The women who owns the house had her husband there which was great, he was our chauffeur for the night,dropping us off, picking us up,plus cook in the morning.
I am sure he loved being with a bunch of middle age crazies.... I think he thought we were nuts!
It was a great weekend, lot's of laughs, snow falling, but I am just not sure it would be considered a ski weekend,togeather we skied all of three runs with a big break after two runs.
I didn't get the feeling these women love to ski like I do but it was nice to have someone to ski with.....I think!
When others talk about their ski days and trips on this site it sounds like there is some real skiing involved. What's that like...HA!
