I wish it would stop snowing!!!

The last of the open ski resorts Closed on Sunday April 8th.
The Skis are all put away, with no hope of another day on the slopes this season(for me).
The Mt Bike and Golf Clubs are starting to whisper my name, and THIS is heading my way!:(

I never wish for the snow to stop coming. I'm the girl who always wants one more day on the hill. We could have used this snow a month ago so the resorts could have stayed open(60F temps and rain for two weeks made for marginal coverage until the last two big storms).

Enough is enough! Let me change gears and get out my summer play toys:smile:

You're not alone!! I agree 100%. My horses are bored and ready to get out and ride but with this weather I just can't ride yet!!! We also have a lot of other spring work we need to get started on but we can't do that either!!! I am also sick of carrying water buckets, I want the hose back!! I'm getting that storm too! Now that skiing is over it is time for spring.

Unusual things happening

The forest service lease on our ski area ends on April 15 for ski activities. We ussually get a huge dump literally every eve of closing day and then it continues to snow for the next two or three weeks incessantly. This year we got early season snowpack followed by one or two major storms and then nothing. Here we sit with virtually no snowpack left anywhere after weeks of unseasonably warm weather and although golfing, biking horse back riding is all prime. The Lochsa is flowing and may have already peaked. We are in serious fear of the season being really shortened by the early onset of fires. We would love to see some snow here now. I wish we could steal yours! We were suppose to have a week of rain, but got about four hours and the sun is back out. Things are not looking good for us right now.

I agree, April 7th was my last day at Snowmass. It is snowing today in Iowa. I am ready to pull out my waterski, we always try to do both in the same week. It is suposed to be cold, rainy/snowy all week.

I call it Mother Nature taunting me...

But seriously we're supposed to have a major snow event tomorrow/Friday in northern New England, and possibly another on Monday... More snow in April than January :(

Alas however I think my hubby might be getting the itch to ski this weekend, but we'll see.

Well for those how can't, I'll add a few more runs for you on Saturday. I never put "everything" away till May, just because you never know. Saturday is the Caribou Splash Cup at Tremblant. Yup - pool of water and booze. Fun afternoon if its sunny. Snow on its way - not as much as south of the border, but enough to freshen things up!!

All the ski resorts in Michigan were closes as of April 8th.
Since the two big storms hit, a few in the UP have re-opened:D

The next question is.............do I have it in me to drive 6 1/2 hrs to Marquette Mountain for a few days of skiing? Will my husband put his dirtbike away long enough to take the drive with me?
Will my new skis - Elan Wave Spice - be ideal for these conditions so I can give them a shot?(just arrived and I'm so excited!)

Hmmmmmm.
Decisions decisions:cool:

Hmmph. Forecast here is for 27 degrees C over the weekend. That's almost into the eighties in old money

eng_ch, I'm getting your kind of weather here in Ontario - dreary and damp, no snow (wrong side of the lake or border, what ever!). It's suppose to be 10-12C next week. Spring might have finally sprung.

Jilly, at the moment we're missing spring altogether and we're straight into summer. But come May, no doubt we'll get the couple fo weeks of chilly dull weather they call the "Eisheiligen" (ice saints) here

While I'm always the optimist who are not surprised to see snow coming AFTER all areas are closed, this is one time I would have to say the same "I wish it would stop snowing!".

Because the sad fact (not!) is, some ski area decided to stay open a couple more weeks and I had this dilema of whether to go skiing or not after mid-April!;)

I needed the rest. I need to get on the bike. I need to get my tax done this weekend. But there's a storm up north, dumping snow on the slope!

No, I have no dilema. I'm happy as a ski diva can be. I will get a chance to ski at least one more time! Yeehaaa!!!
