In the interest of the desparation of waiting for the resorts to open, I thought I'd share a story about my girlfriends kids who amplify excitment for outdoor activity in general but skiing for sure.
To begin, my girlfriend refuses to have cable tv in their home, and limits internet, as well as "game" time (play station, internet, Xbox type games).

There have been a few occasions when she was unable to be home from work before her kids got home from school(happens rarely). One day, she suggested to her son that he(age 13) fire up the snowblower and get a path made between the driveway and the house before she got home.

When she got home, he nearly had the entire yard snow blown and the snow moved to the top of the old root cellar. He, and his little sister were using shovels, and sleds to pack the snow down and 'groom' their new ski hill.
This is not a one time deal with these kids. They are never ever in the house. Biggest complaint mom has is, that she needs several pair of snow pants for the kids so they have some clean and dry to go skiing.

These kids have it bad!:D

I thought I'd add a few pics I took last year when they were playing on their ski hill.
When you look at these, ask yourself, "how many hours did these two kids spend out there building that and playing on it?"
These kids rarely get sick. Makes you wonder about the basic elements to health.....Fresh air, sunshine, water, excercise.

This pic to show the scope of the hill(actually doesn't do it justice)

I'd like to thank my friend for letting this childless woman borrow hers from time to time!
