The Connection between Boot & Ski

I'm planning on buying new boots next week. (Boxing Day sales are akin to the American 'Black Friday') so I'm hoping to find a good deal.

I was wondering how will a stiffer boot affect the stiffness of my ski? I love my One Luv's, but at times can feel soft (on the ice)

Will stiffer boots help during those icy days? Will it matter at all?

...and why aren't there boot demo days???????

I currently own True Luvs which are softer I think ? than the One Luvs. I ski them in a Dalbello Storm & this boot is stiffer than the Salomon Mynx boots I skied in last year. I don't notice any softening of my ski as a result. But the boot does make it easier to ski in cause they fit so well on my foot.

The boots will make a difference in your technique, which in turn will make a difference on how you perform on that ski.
However, if you're folding the ski, you may just need a stiffer ski. I am uncomfortable on a ski that is too soft. I feel like I can't get the juices flowing.
When you get boots, check into some ski demos and see what happens.

If you like the Luv line, then try the burnin luv. Same sidecut as your current ski IIRC, but laminate construction therefore a more substantial feel.

Bravosarah - make sure you're heading to a ski shop, not Sportchek or Sportsmart. I'm not up on the shops in TO anymore, but Sign of the Skier is still there. I know they do work with the CSIA instructors, so there must be somebody there who knows something about boots. Or Collingwood if you're heading up there!!
