the boots on YOUR feet

all this talk of boots and fitting made me wonder...What does a Diva have on her feet when she skis? I'm just wondering what our favorite brands and models are, completely acknowledging the difference with fit issues and skiing style .

I'll go first. I'm currently wearing a Dalbello boot. The Trufit NX 7.4. I think they're about 4 years old and still serving me well.

I'm getting out of my Salomon Performa 4.0s and into my Nordica Olympia Beast 10s once I have the go ahead to ski again. Hoping they work out better for me, especially since my Salomons were 1 shell size too big.

I just purchased Tecnica Attiva M4's this year... entry level/novice boots.

I'm learning to ski all over again, so I think they're a great fit. Maybe after I get a little better next year something else will be necessary, but for now, these fit great, and they worked well!

Tecnica Attiva Flame 06-07 model purchased for 07-08 season early in season. Superfeet Cork insoles, custom molded in 1998 - eradicated a ton of my fit issues from that day forward.

4th pair of Tecnica for me. Current ones replaced a Rival X9L, packed out early this season. Those replaced another Rival (long gone, forgot model), and those replaced an Innotec (ditto). Tecnicas do tend to pack out, but for the deals I get and the pain-free good fit, it's money well spent to replace.

This is simply my brand, and the size is dialed in (until/when/if they change lasts - horrors). Due to needing no customizing, I can< cautiously> purchase online for great deals. And this is for someone who has a protruding navicular that sticks 1" farther out than my ankle. Among other issues.

Ultimately, it was the custom footbeds that changed my boot saga. Highly recommended. Spend your $ on these. Worth every penny.

Not good. Toe box fit issues. Hope you are able to remedy this, as it takes a major trauma to blacken a toenail - and if it falls off, you won't be thrilled with what grows back (which is often a strange mutation of what you formerly had). Not to mention infection risks. Don't put off the tweaking process.

Dalbello Krypton Storm. Great fit for my average width foot with a very high instep. I'm wondering how the Kryzma would fit - same as the storm?

I have Salomon Instinct 9's a total high performance boot (I am not a high performance skiier). But it was one of two boots that "fit" my foot. I went for the whole deal, custom footbeds, ect..ect... and I will say that I LOVE my boots. Having a properly fitting boot has changed my whole attitude about skiing. And the service at my local shop is fantastic. I have been in for 3 or 4 adjustments since my purchase and each time my boots just get better and better.

Full Tilt Lady, new this season, with cork footbeds I had made lo, so many years ago. (2000?)

Bought them because they are notoriously low volume, and I have very, very low volume feet with a narrow blade of a heel. Maybe a little soft in fore-aft flex (although very stiff laterally), but that's only an occasional problem on steep groomers. Not an issue on the soft stuff or in the bumps. Curious about the Kryptons, because I am liking a three-piece boot construction, but I think they may be too wide in the heel. Before this, I was in Lange (race-fit) boots for a long time, due to my skinny little feet.

The fit on the new boots has been perfect, with the custom molded Intuition liner, until a ski day on this last trip, when I had some cramping in my arch and along the outside of my foot, along with a little more heel movement than I would like. Literally, all of a sudden, movement and cramping. Need to go visit Larry at Larry's Bootfitting and sort this out.

I've got a pair of Lange Exclusive 90s. They are beautiful. Be-au-ti-ful. And fantastic boots. Is it just me, or is Lange not the boot of choice around here?

Hmm... I thought having a black toe was half normal? I slam my toes into the front of my boots when I land jumps. My toes always hurt after a good day of skiing. Pain is gain... Right?

Used to ski in Salomon Performa 7s. Too packed out now, my foot/ankle flops around in spring snow!

I have Nordica Olympia Speed Machine 10's that I got them toward the end of the season last year. I think I have about 60 days in them and though I was seriously in love with them at first, I'm really not sure how I feel about them now. I have really skinny legs, and I've had some shin bang issues. My bootfitter showed me a way to use the power strap that essentially solves this problem, but I also think I may have a little too much room in the toe box. I'm keeping 'em, though, for a couple more years. Can't afford not to.

Oh, and I have custom boot beds.

2nd year in Lange World Cup 100 Junior size 23.5 (that's a 6.5 on my 7.5 size foot). They fit my skinny little ankle/heel/achilles tendon, heel lifts got my calves up out of the cuff, and significant work on the toe box gave my piggies adequate wiggle room. Since these boots, I no longer lose both big toenails! Yay!!! Oh, and Superfeet Cork made circa 1980-something, still going strong.

Traded up from 1990's Salomon Performa Equipe 9.0/Race 9.0 - that is one STIFF boot. I thought they fit really well when I got them, but now I know better.

I got Lange boots too Venus 85 model. Love it! The fit is great, and the great look does not hurt either...
