THE BIG SKI DIVA GIVE!!!

Ok....so now....speaking of Oprah....her new show got me to thinking...

"If you were given $10,000 dollars to spend TODAY, how and where would you spend it and why?" (Remember, you can't spend it on yourself or anyone that you know. COMPLETE strangers!)

There are so many answers to this, so to make it "SKI" related....here is what I came up with for me:

I would do one of 2 things:
1) Take as many inner city Denver children that I could (or even homeless) and buy them ski outfits and/or equipment, then get them up to the mountain for a day of lessons and skiing in the beautiful Colorado Rockies!

2) Buy adaptive ski equipment for a family that desperately wants to "play" together but has run into a speed bump due to someone in their family that wouldn't be able to ski due to a disability. I'd also include Ski Passes and lodging for the family for a year.

Oh boy! That would make me SO happy!

What would you do?

NVG - I'm with you on that plan. I do know that there was a group doing just that in Vancouver and using Whistler. They get inner city kids up to Whistler, snowboards or skis and got them going. Most are still riding and some are even instructing in the program. Wouldn't any group like that want Oprah as a sponsor!!

Donate it to Maine Handicapped Skiing, a wonderful program based out of Sunday River, Maine, and traveling to other ski resorts regionally, which offers free skiing and full instruction to any handicapped person in the state. All physical handicaps accommodated, including quadriplegic. (Many instructors are para.) Deaf, blind, cerebral palsy. All are accommodated. All smile BIG
