this makes me sad. It's only recently that winter has become my favorite season, so I start missing it even before it ends. I hated winter when I was delivering mail, go figure! But now summer can't end fast enough.

This could be the last weekend for my New York resort: Greek Peak. As I said somewhere else today: their homepage read today: six inches of new snow, resort closing for weekday skiing on monday.

But I extended my April Utah trip by a day today to try to deal with the mourning.

The resorts in Norway has extended their closing dates as well. It really doesn't help me much working all through April. Hopefully there is still some snow left in May, and I know of at least two places that have announced their closing date to be May 4th.

And Folgefonna has announced the opening date to be May 1st. I'm crossing my fingers. :D

Boo hoo......I guess it's time to clean up and oil the bearings in the wheels of my rollerblades ..... oh yes, and regrip the golf clubs.....

I was hoping to get one last day of skiing in today in Southern Ontario, but I'm sitting home nursing a cold and thinking it's turning into a sinus infection............drat.............it's an absolutely beautiful sunny day here.......oh well........it's been a great season for me with 2 trips out east to Mont Tremblant (where I met up with Jilly!!), one trip out west at Big White for a week and a half, and several days up in Collingwood.

All in all, a great season......

Here's the deal though.....they both have PLENTY of snow cover! This is the first year they're not been open into April for quite a while. Why? Get this: The only people showing up now are season pass holders, so they're not selling enough tickets to cover the cost of operation. Seems to me the pass holders are getting royally screwed by this deal! Arrrgh!

Boo hoo hoo....I hate seeing all the April closing dates. :( When everything has closed, we are facing up to 6 ski-less months (or more!!!). Horrible thought.....:Cry: :Cry: :Cry: :Cry:

Here are the ones closest to me, that I use.

Voss, about 1,5 hours drive
Voss Fjellandsby, about 1,75 hours drive
Eikedalen, about 50 mins
Røldal, about 3,5 hours drive (one of the best offpiste skiing resorts, and the one with the most snow in Europe at the moment)
Hemsedal, about 4,5 hours drive.

Sunshine Village near Banff will stay open till the last weekend in May!
