As those who have been following the MOTH for Taos Ski Valley (TSV) in late February know, traveling Divas started skiing on Feb. 20. Most will start skiing on Sunday, Feb. 22, which is when the Women’s Ski Week starts. Some people are doing a Classic Ski Week.

This thread is for photos and any notes people care to share publicly.

Feel free to share photos, comments, and questions in the general MOTH.

Storm skiing first thing Friday morning, Feb. 20. All lifts were closed by 1:30pm due to high winds, gusting to 70mph.

Getting down from Whistlestop after 11:30 was hard work with no visibility and strong winds. Taking White Feather was the only option. Even so, had to go very carefully. I joined up with a couple (turned out to be from NC originally!) and we took turns leading. Picked up an older man in a yellow jacket who had gone down Powderhorn and then got stuck with no visible target where White Feather joins up. He was my target. He followed me as soon as I skied slowly past him. We both stopped at the fence at the turn, happy to have made it. He thanked me for providing a way to see for that section.

Several people switched Ski Week groups on Monday. From what I could tell talking to people, those who moved are much happier.

Apparently there is public WiFi

Inside Cid's. Not many shops have storage for employees for skis/boards.

Our miracle happened and Kachina lift opened this morning! Our ski week class was up within the first 20 mins and got a cute opening day souvenir goodiebag with bacon or donuts. We were glad we didn’t have to hike it after the short walk up the the prayer flags had me puffing. Gorgeous snow especially in the morning. By the afternoon the snow was still great but the moguls were getting bigger!
