Right, just what I want as a childless person - the teenage years! (Honestly, better than the diaper, not talking years. At least I remember being a teenager. In a different era.)
Total side convo but yes, as the parent of a 13-year-old, parenting a teen is SO MUCH BETTER than a potty training toddler.

I actually think teens are pretty interesting. Now, they can drive you up a wall if you forget that in the spot that their prefrontal cortex is supposed to exist there is a drooling ogre, but if you can remember that, then they are pretty entertaining. I don’t think I was as effective as a small child mom as I can be at being a teenager’s mom. To be fair, there has been therapy in the intervening years.

My daughter did not start the real growth spurt until she was nearly a junior in high school when she grew 3" and gained zero pounds - a glimpse into your future?
Um, yes. Almost certainly.

If pants are desired at some point, the North Face Snoga run small but are stretchy - and also come in tall sizing.

I know… she’s growing about 2-3 inches a year and she’s almost 12. So, not tall AT THE MOMENT (I’m 5’8”) but she’s gonna lap me this year, and she probably has about 2-3 years of growing left, based on her current state. She’s definitely got 4-6 inches in her in the next 2 years.

So, yes, not tall, but I’m trying to plan for next year. And MAYBE get her something on sale now, rather than having to buy skis/boots for her and coats for both kids at the beginning of the season.

Also, her current pants (Spyder kids) are totally high waters, but she figures that with a ski boot on, it doesn’t REALLY matter.
Funny on the tall/not debate. My 11.5 year old is 4'6" (best guess, I'm 5'3" and she doesn't reach my chin yet) and 60#. It's so easy to forget how old she is. My son is 2-3" taller, 85# and is 9.

Your daughter is definitely going to be tall, and will likely need a longer inseam by next year.

I’m 5’ 10”, maybe a 33” or 34” inseam, and I’ve found both north face bibs and Burton bibs to be great length wise. My Burton bib is almost even long on me (until my ski boots are on, then it’s perfect). I also like my Burton jacket because it’s one of the only ones where the arms were long enough. When I wore pants, I also agree that the obermeyers should be a good fit due to the number sizing and mine had good Velcro that helped cinch the waist too. Hope you find something that fits!

My daughter is 5'7" at almost 13. I'm 5'9" but her grandma grew until she was 19 and ended up around 6' so I'm preparing to be short soon.
