Taking care of your skin.

Anyone have any tips for taking care of your skin during ski season? The elements can be brutal.

I don't have too much facial exposure. Between the goggles and my gaiter, not much even sticks out. All the same, I use a moisturizer with an SPF before and after the slopes. And if it's sunny, I'll use a good sunblock, too.

I've started using a face mask if it's really cold and windy. I know it looks awful, but I had some bad wind damage last year (that thankfully, repaired itself) after I was out on a -25 wind chill day. So now I'm more careful.

I'm with you Ski Diva. A good moisturizer is a necessity. I use my regular stuff, then add SPF 15 or 30 in the spring. After skiing it's more cream. Actually I use a product called Cream 28 from Yonka. It's for dehydrated skin. Also drug store brand body lotion. And don't forget the Peppermint Foot Cream!!

Wind and sun damage can be really aging and at my age I don't need to do that anymore!
Yes, a good thick skin protectorant with at least 30 spf is important. When out west at higher altitude, I can't believe how dry it is and how much moisturizing is necessary. When I had access thru a family member to free samples of Creme de la mer, I saved them for ski trips.
No reluctance on my part to wear a face mask if cold enough. Goggles help prevent some damage around my lovely crows feet. I keep dermatone on me so I can reapply to nose and mouth as needed.

Saving samples of Creme de la Mer for skiing is exemplary Ski Diva behavior.

I didn't reply to the "Do you wear make-up when you ski thread" because I use Neutrogena Health Defense Daily Moisturizer when I ski. It has a light tint/hint of color and SPF 30. Moisturizer and a little lip gloss and I'm ready to go.

Lola, so do I and that is nothing to be ashamed of! It's not makeup, it's tinted moisturiser!!

Being a diva means not wanting to look like a ragged hag, even if you are skiing. There's just no excuse for poor presentation and grooming.
