Just wanted to say: I think they look FAB together!!! I Love the yellow and blue!!!

I took a trip to my "local" Maxx across the border and only plain and boring black and white pants. Didn't come across any cute jackets either. What's up with that  I think there's another one about a half hour away that I just may have to take a look around!

It definitely is a very nice combo. Great finds!

I third or fourth that!! I like the combo together!!

I picked up a pair of powder blue ski pants at TJMAXX, the same, $30. I couldn't pass that up!!

Love the green as well!

nice outfit!

I was in there this weekend and found a bunch of patagonia capilene 3 zip necks for $20. I had to walk out of the store before I bought them all.

Off to Maxx tomorrow morning! Will report if I find any good deals (or if I find anything at all lol).

I'm sad to say that I didn't find anything that I was looking for. They didn't even have any cute hats:noidea: They had a really cute pair of pants, I think they were Spyders (?), but they were brown. My jacket is black so that would never work. I was expecting to walk out with a pair of pants, but the majority of their stock were jackets.

Although, I did find a top that I could wear as an extra layer. It supposedly keeps the sweat out.

I should be so lucky. I wish I hadn't found so many good things at TJMaxx.

As someone who works in the apparel industry - and who has sold ski apparel to TJMaxx - I wanted to share that their assortments really do vary by store. Stores are classified as A, B, C, etc. stores. A stores get the best merchandise and so on down the line. The stores received their classification based on sales volume, but also local demographics.

A particularly good store (probably an A, but I'm not sure) is the TJMaxx on Route 9 in Framingham, MA.

How does the general public find out if their store is classified as A, B or C? I would travel to a better store if I knew it was classified as A or B.

I would guess those in more affluent areas get higher designation? I have a TJ Maxx 1 mile from my house which is OK, but if I go to the one 30 minutes away in the "rich" area, they have better stuff.

We have a Marshall's on my end of the city, which generally has much better merchandise than the TJ Maxx on the other end--fits with what you said about location. I'm skeptical about finding much in a SOUTH Carolina store-only ever saw socks, which I don't need because we win them in races. But having bought two pairs of skis in the past eight months (~had~ to buy 2nd paid for GS races) **and** my first 21st century jacket (1/2 price at Killington), I think I need to be like Maine Ski Lady: "I do not need anything!" "I do NOT need anything!) REPEAT..... MUST save $ for gas to slopes!!!!!!

Well, that sure beats my 3.5 hour, 165+ mile drive to Framingham, MA!
Oh, I suppose I could do the 100 miles to North Conway, NH.
Ummmm, how about.....neither.....
I'm sure the 2 that are 40 miles away are in the "D" category, ha!
Not worth 3 gallons of gas unless I know THE DESIGNATION.

I think all our stores are "D" grade. I mean our local department stores are Sears, Zellers,Wal-mart and Giant Tiger. It's 1 hour drive to a Bay and even that I think is not top notch! Sometimes is worth the trip to Toronto for selection. The Winners and even the Sport Chek here are the pits!

I was looking for grey, but.......Black will be fine.
Is it time to ski yet?

MSL -trust me, the new england TJ stores are way better than any of them west of the mississippi.

I was just in Maine Oct25-26th- and hit up the Auburn store - I totally scored, - and bought a bunch because our selection usually isn't that good. (FWIW, my mom says the bangor store is pretty good b/c they don't know major brands as well up there)

I got a pair of Burton gloves (19$) and burton mittens ($16?), a SWIX xc jacket for $29, a Cloudveil softshel for me $59, and a SPYDER softshell for hubby - $99. There were tons of other jackets and accessories, I had to stop myself before I had to buy a bigger piece of luggage too.

got back to UT and stopped by a local store, which had some decent things - just not the same size selection, and prices weren't as good either. Found an Orage jacket l liked, but it was $179.
