If any of you have one in your area, their annual sale of ski stuff started today. And yes, they have jackets! A collection of stuff, some good, some bad, and definitely some ugly. Fun to poke around if you have time.

I went last night and they had a pretty good selection. Some familiar brands some not so familiar. I picked up a midweight jacket for $40 -- a brand I didn't recognize, but full of features I wanted. For $40 I figured it was worth the gamble. They also had gloves, base layers, etc. It's worth checking out.

I went last night also. I live near two, and one usually has a better selection than the other. I'm going to the second one tonight. Got some socks and gloves last night. I can never have too many ski socks!

Winner's (the Canadian division of TJ Maxx) doesn't do any of that up here where I live. Not sure about some of the larger centres. We just don't get deals.

I hit one last night, too. Got some socks, mittens, gloves and a few shirts. All of this stuff was divided between DD and me last night. Of course, being the jacket slut that I am, I had to get one of those two. A light-weight cloudveil shell, more suited to biking and running. She didn't get to pick that.

My wallet is not happy with you.

I found a K2 Baby Luv jacket (which cannot be found online, but it's a waterproof hardshell with powder skirt, lots of pockets, and it's in a beautiful orchid color). Even though I insisted I will not buy another hardshell jacket....this one came home with me. See what you girls have started!!!!!!!

I can NEVER find anything at Winners. And you're right, we don't get the deals here.

TJMAXX rocks! I am going to head over the border and take a look:D I could use some gloves.

Okay, so while I bought a bunch of stuff for me that's non-ski related, I did buy my BF a jacket. He already has a jacket that he likes, but hey, why not.

Ladies, help me out here, I'm still new to technical clothing. It's a Marmot Genesis Jacket <softshell>. I tried it on, and we're similar in size <I need to lose weight! ha ha>.... He'll be home this evening to see if he likes it.

$199.... yikes, but I looked online when I was at the store <thank you blackberry> and they are usually $300+....

Thoughts? I have 30 days to return if he doesn't like it.

Last year I got a Killtec ski jacket, which I had never heard of, and I love it!
I think some of those little known finds are truly the FINDS!

What is the name of your find?

I escaped with nothing more than a Cloudveil beanie for me and Patagonia base layer for DS.

There is a certain point when one's "jacket sluttiness" works for you ... in the past couple of seasons, I have found five or six really nice Cloudveil softshells at TJ Maxx, but every time I realized I already had something really similar at home. "Gray? check. Red? Check. Black? check" and so on.

I found the same jacket. They had size large and size small, and like the three bears, one was too big and one was too small, unfortunately, none was just right. Same with a pair of Spyder pants, one size too big. So although my wallet was happy, I was not.:(

I could always help you score a medium here. :eyebrows: I really was turned off by hardshell jackets til I found that. It's gorgeous! The only downside is that it doesn't have pitzips.

Thanks for the offer, but right now, I think I'd better keep my wallet happy. With the economy what it is right now, I'm thinking lift tickets instead of (unnecessary) clothes!
