Swim & Ski at 8200+ feet?

Did you all know that at Squaw Valley's High Camp area, starting at 8200 ft. elevation, they not only have great skiing, but also a pool, a skating rink and a bunch of other neat stuff. So you could ski, then soak in the pool! Lots of nice summer activities, too! I take my dog up there and hike around the ski trails in the summer!

Here's a photo of the pool in winter...

Wow, beautiful pic! Makes me wanna jump right in!! I have found that a nice swim in warm water after skiing is very therapeutic. Hot tubs are too hot for me.

I always thought it looked really nice. . . and then the thought of dealing with locker rooms and changing and wet hair and such for the trip down always stopped me from using it, lol!

I agree....the getting in and especially the getting OUT part is not too appealing to me--I'm too cold sensitive. I don't even use my own hot tub in winter for that reason, especially when there is snow or it's really cold! But what a great setting for a pool nonetheless!

It really is a pretty cool idea.

I mean, I do like sitting in the hot tub in the snow (we had a couple great nights in the hot tub at the PlumpJack at Squaw), and sitting up on the mountain, with the peaks all around? Lovely.

I just couldn't stomach the idea of peeling off the wet bathing suit and putting my ski clothes back on and riding the tram with wet hair! I guess I am a wuss.

no problem with changing, wet hair...I change some parts of clothing after skiing anyway (especially spring when I'm soaked) and sometimes bring a blow dryer for my hair (again, usually spring). Sitting in a hottub with a vino and checking out the snow/trails is the BEST! (and checking out the guys)

reminds me of one of my favorite phone messages from last spring, "They're shoveling snow off the deck right now!" woo hoo
