I've been focusing on road biking this summer. Last summer I cracked 1,000 miles, and I'm hoping to make that again this year. As of today, I'm at 560, so here's hoping.

I got words for you lady, but Ski Diva would ban me!!

Hope you had fun and didn't hurt anything!

I had fun; the skiing was meh, but the whole idea of it had me grinning. I did skin two knuckles somehow - while buckling my boots =/

I have an interview tomorrow - thinking of how to casually slip into conversation that I didn't actually punch someone; I just scraped up my hand buckling my boots. That's ... normal, right? (There have been times in my life where it wouldn't have been unusual to have knuckle scrapes from punching a bag, so I guess it doesn't really matter ...)

Don't explain ... let them create their own scenario. It's bound to be way more interesting than the truth!

Oh, I hadn't looked at my miles YTD. Just did the math and I'm at 944.06 so I'll crack 1k on Saturday (have 1 hour today and 60-70 miles on Saturday). I think I'll set a 1.5k goal.

I'm at 750 now, so I'm getting there.

With rain the entire month of May and most of June and now work I'm nowhere near my 1000 mile goal. :frown: I hope to get 700 at the rate I'm going!

I've gone back to swimming as it's been not that great weather, so I've not really been walking apart from the dog. I'm averaging about 25- 30km a week, which isn't great but it's not too bad.

I've rediscovered my love of climbing. Too bad its so bloody hard to get out, but I've been feeling really good on the rock when I do get the occasion.

I'm the opposite of Kimmyt at the moment, I was just scrolling down to post that I haven't climbed at all this year. Haven't gone diving this year either, though that's a rare occasion thing for me any year. I've been sticking with things I can easily do close to home- swimming and running regularly, hiking, skating and [horseback] riding occasionally.

Not a summer thing, but I took up ice skating last year. The park district around here has several rinks which are free if you bring your own skates, so I bought a pair and took to the ice regularly. Last winter, the park district opened up a skating ribbon, which is a quarter mile loop of ice, kind of lazy river style, with some slight inclines and declines. I *love* it and started replacing some of my runs with equivalent distance skates there. I feel like ice skating through the winter in between trips to the hill helped my body stay kind of in ski mode. Edges and all that...or maybe just in my head. Either way, it was fun and I plan to do it again this year.

It's at Maggie Daley Park, another large park near Millenium Park. There's a bridge that connects Millenium and Maggie Daley Parks, so you can go between them without getting back on the street.

My summer activity is staying cool.. We don't have air conditioning because.... Normally we don't need it. This summer has been another story. On fact, the yes are dying and we are talking to a logger about taking some down before they fall on the house.

Before you all tell me to water them, it's five acres of forest.
