My friends and I traveled from New York City to Vermont last weekend. I learned to ski at Sugarbush in the early 80s and, after a hiatus in the 90s, I've enjoyed my return trips to the mountain in the past few years.
We skied both Friday and Monday (snow-shoed on Sunday) - both days at Lincoln Peak. A big surprise on Saturday was that Stein's Run was groomed. By Monday it had bumped up a bit, but was still very pleasant. Apparently the new owners like to groom Stein's occassionally and make it accessible to more skiers.
Other pleasant runs were Organgrinder, Paradise and Twist. I found Glades and Downspout to be particularly icy. Downspout is a major traffic funneler and gets skied off easily.
We also enjoyed two runs at Castlerock. A little icy and a few rocks on the lower portions of the runs, but no one was there.
The new base area and lodge is most impressive. However, the locker room in the lodge needs to be improved. It was bumper to bumper with people on Saturday and people were misplacing/losing their belongings because of the chaos.
Any others in the forum fans of Sugarbush?
