Hi all - you gave me such good advice for tremblant was hoping to get your input on for our upcoming visit to sugarbush. So im pretty comfortable trying anything green but cautious when trying blues new to me. Where would you suggest i start? Especially with there being two separate peaks. For context I would say suntanner and lower drifter at Stratton are the “worst” blues i have done there and I founf Toboggan at tremblant at the limit of my current comfort zone. Would also love any tips for a first visit as well! Places to eat and things to do? We have 4 days there

Fun! I'll DM you my info and days in the shop in case you want to say hi.

Sugarbush has some great explorer blues. I'll divvy it up by peak since you'll probably visit both? I'd say Lincoln Peak ("South") has more options but definitely go to Ellen ("North") at least once for the views from the top and the bar/porch at the base. Paging @empogo for her instructor expertise - she'll definitely know the ideal progression. What follows are just my personal blue favs that aren't too challenging and are always groomed.

Lincoln: Start with Gatehouse and do Pushover for a nice green warm up. If that feels good, take Gatehouse again and do Sleeper - take the "Sleeper Road" to the right when the trail splits, it will be obvious and the steeper pitch will be marked for advanced skiers. One more time up Gatehouse and take the Castlerock Connection, which is a fairly flat cat track but so pretty! That will take you to Lower Jester and then down to the base via Gondolier. Then, off the Super Bravo lift, take the long cat track "Valley House traverse" over to Snowball to Lower Snowball to Racer's Edge. If all that feels good, my favorite groomer blue is Jester, off the top of Heaven's Gate - it is a little annoying to get to the Heaven's Gate lift because there is a blue called Downspout that tends to be a bit skied off, but you can totally make it. OR, if they're running the Valley House lift, you can take that up and then take the "Heaven's Gate Traverse" and skip Downspout all together

Ellen: Check reports before heading over - Ellen has been plagued with lift issues this year. If Green Mountain Express isn't running, skip it. Ditto if North Ridge is down. North Star is a super fun green. Which Way and Joe's Cruiser are good. If you go all the way to the top for the views, you can descend down Panorama to Rim Run to Lower Rim Run. If all of that feels good, try Elbow. The Inverness area is fun but sometimes closed for racing.
