Southern CO: I'm leaving, on a jet plane!

Early tomorrow morning, we're leaving, on a jet plane. Don't know when we'll be back again! :D

OK, we do know when we'll be back again. Our return travel day is April 4th.

Anyway, most of you know we're going to southern Colorado to ski Silverton, Purgatory/Durango, Telluride, Crested Butte (where we hope to take some turns with Marigee because she's vacationing there at the same time  ), and Monarch. We'll be doing some hiking for turns at Silverton (only way to ski that place) and at Telluride. We're also supposed to go snowcat skiing at Purgatory and Monarch. Right now, the snowcat is NOT running at Purgatory because they have very sketchy snow. However, forecast is for snow for the next few days.

So, your mission, should you choose to accept it: Do the snow dance for us, but make sure to specify that we have to be able to LAND THE PLANE in Durango tomorrow.

I'll post a trip report when I return.

Now I must get crackin' so we can get out of here for this trip! :D

I'm definitely doing the snow dance so we'll have snow for our trip to Crested Butte. I'll just start a little early so you'll have snow for the first part of your vacation!

See ya in Crested Butte!

Wow, Durango has an airport?? Who'da thunk it. ;)

If you're a bit flexible in your plans, why not check out Wolf Creek resort (instead of Durango or Monarch)? Wolf just got 13" of new snow, and more on the way. Great steeps along the ridge, and the snow on Alberta peak (hike-to) is usually awesome.

Either way, looks like you picked a good weekend. Snow showers all weekend long, which is good since we've been dry for a couple weeks now.

Not flexible at all, it's a press trip. But I am glad to see the snow that's in the forecast. Right now, most of the extreme terrain at Crested Butte is CLOSED, so is the snowcat tour at Durango that we're supposed to do. :( Here's hoping that changes, since my hubby needs to take lots of photos for our site and we've shelled out too much money to come back without great photos and stories. I'm sure we'll have a lot of fun, but snow helps! ;)

By the way, Wolf Creek has been on our list for a long time. We'll have to get back there another time.

Thanks, any extra snow dancing helps! I still think it's so funny that two ladies from the EC are meeting for the first time out WEST. :D

By the way, Marigee, I just got an itinerary for the Crested Butte portion of the trip. On Friday, March 30, we have our annual NASJA Nor-Am Race. It starts at 10:30 a.m. on the NASTAR race course. You could always stop by to look for me, maybe we could take some turns together after. The other option is Saturday afternoon. Call me after you've settled in.

I DID meet your brother! :D He was kind of freaked that I knew you through an Internet forum. ;) We were supposed to have drinks after skiing in the Silverton yurt, but he ended up having to do something work-related so we didn't.

I didn't do a trip report yet, we are weeding through thousands of pictures at the moment so I can do one. It might be next week before I get to it, I've been gone from work for 2 weeks and returned to LOTS of work waiting for me...many projects with deadlines for this week.

That's very funny. He called me and said, "pinto? who's pinto?"

I hope your trip was great ... look forward to the report. I think you must have had some good snow!
