Ski Diva Extraordinaire
This is the only place I know where people will actually get it. I am super pumped.

I am winding down after skiing day 5 of what will be a month of skiing. I have packed myself up and I'm at the mountain until Mar 15 when I board a plane for Utah to ski for 9 more days.

I am just so excited about getting so much time on the slopes in - maybe 10 days last year and already over 20 this year. I can see a HUGE difference in my skill.

9" forecast for tomorrow and Wednesday so great conditions all around.

I am so happy. I think I like this skiing thing. :smile:

Apologies completely unncessary! You are charging past the intermediate stage with lightning speed, underscored by enthusiasm and motivation. Gloat away! We totally get it here. Isn't it great to have a place to jump up and down and say, "I did it, I did it?" Who would have listened to us before?

I'm thrilled to hear when new skier divas conquer the chairlifts --- those of us who have been at this for a very long time tend to forget those milestones and how cool they were - we start taking a lot of aspects of skiing for granted, like the chairlift unloading "sweats." It's wonderful to read about all the milestones and cheer others on. That's what we're here for :smile: !
 
And where are you planning to ski when you get here?!?

I shouldn't gripe, I'm leaving in 4 days for 9 days in Utah.

But congrats to you for having the time to do what you love! Ah, living the dream.

Actually, poor AQ tweaked a knee the day after this :Cry: - see injuries dept. Hopefully, it's not a season-ending one!!!! She doesn't have internet access at the place she's staying (AQ, get a cell phone internet card or a month of land-line dial-up!!), so I'll be calling her later this aft to check on her progress.

We're staying with my in-laws in Park City ...DH and both his brothers will be there too (sisters-in-law don't ski so I'm the estrogen donor for this trip:smile: )

We are going to ski PCMR for sure (have one lift ticket each) and then we are open to suggestions...

Where should we go?

Well, you know, judging by my name ... I'm pretty biased. But you haven't officially skied UT unless you've hit Alta. :ski2:

But if you're staying in PC only, I'd advise a day at Deer Valley because 1) The food is amazing and 2) you'll have a lot of fun on the long groomers and 3) There are great views everywhere.

I am not a fan of The Canyons whatsoever, so my advice is to not waste your money there.

Hope your trip out here is a blast!

Deer Valley=Big Bucks - but worth the experience.
Canyons=well, I'm not a huge fan either, but it's a big, big place and would provide you with your first gondola experience :smile:
How far do you want to travel?
Not that far to LCC/BCC, if no big storms.
SOOO many choices there, decisions, decisions.
I would love to do SnowBasin, have heard major good things. A trip, but I'd make it if I was going.
Just a thought!

Deer Valley has a Gondie! So don't let that be your only reason to go to The Canyons. Really.
 
Aha, that just shows how much I know :redface: - boy, it's been too long since I've been there. Can't wait to chat it up w/her about all this, 9 days out there, wow. I'm way jealous...
