Someone just stole all their ski gear!

This is plain despicable.

Someone just broke into the employee locker room at Sugarbush and stole all their ski gear.

Here's the story from Vermont Ski + Ride:

March 20, 2020 -- Just days after Sugarbush employees found out their mountain was closing for the season and many would be out of jobs sooner than expected, they woke up to discover this too: someone had broken into the the lockers at the resort and stolen the staff gear in the Lift Operations room up near the Valley house. On top of that –a sign of the times — they also took hand sanitizer from the Guest Services desk. “I don’t believe any toilet paper was taken but we are still investigating what is missing,” said Sugarbush Communications Director John Bleh.

This morning the following post appeared on local websites. At present, the resort is making a list of all stolen items and asking that folks keep an eye out for stolen gear being sold online. We will share when the list is compiled and update with more details about the robbery.

Clever thieves. I wonder how many lodges and locker rooms they will hit before getting caught. This is awful.

Reminds me of the scam artists taking advantage of peoples' fear about the virus, with spam calls for donations, mandated fees, snake-oil cures, and so forth. Evil gets a toehold everywhere.

Looks like the goal was lowered to $10,000. About $2500 donated so far.

Update on the GoFundMe page says that donations of gear have been offered, so that's probably why less money is needed.

About half way to the goal of $10,000 from 75 donors. Not bad considering the situation for three days.
