So what you got for Christmas?

An unbelievable surprise!

I had absolutely no idea... my sweetie got me a pair of Queen Attivas for Christmas!! We're heading to Utah in March and I've been talking about demoing mid-fats before we go so I can rent something I'll enjoy. Now I've got skis to bring with me!

I'm still in shock. I can't believe he pulled this off without me finding out! My sweetie is such a sweetie!! :jumphappy: :ski2:

I got some fleece pants and top and some new ski socks.

I also got some wide breaks to put on my "fat" skis (99mm underfoot). The bindings I have on them now just have the leashes, which I HATE! Those things drive me crazy... so the breaks are a nice present! Now I can try those for some resort skiing.

My group of friends of various faiths have been celebrating an arbitrary winter gift exchange day for years. We intentionally schedule it to be after Christmas and Hanukkah so those who celebrate either one has a little extra financial padding from receiving gift money before getting gifts for our day, and we have the option of skipping Christmas retail rush. It works out really well.

The downside: I don't know if I got ski swag yet!

Hey SueNJ, I have the Queen Attiva's too. A fun ski. Let us know how you like them when you give them a try!

Well I got some money, no gifts as such from hubby or Dad. So I just might treat myself to a new pair of skis. I'll try some in the next few weeks. Thinking Salomon Origins or Topaz, Atomic Sugar Moma's or the Foxy.
I did get a neat wine bottle holder that is a skier. I'll get a picture and post it.

Well my mom-in-law didn't manage to find the northface pants I wanted, but she did give me a nice gift card to get them for myself. Also got a nice middle layer from REI. Non skiing related my hubby got me the strand of sapphires I fell in love with!

I'd take those sapphires too. Makes me think about taking Grandma's diamond and getting it made into a pendant!

Hubby and I decided to really pare down Xmas this year, but he did end up buying me the Mont Bell Thermawrap parka I've been drooling over for a year. My old NF down coat is tattered, duct-taped, and packed-out, so I'm so excited to have a new synthetic insulating jacket (and it's only 12 oz!). I think he got it so I wouldn't whine so much on cold BC days.

And I got more biking armor for next year. Yay!

Finally got the women's version of the gloves I'd been borrowing from DH for 2 years  - wayyy better fit! My 8 year old sewn, ripped again, duct taped, beloved red Scotts are now wood hauling gloves! Had other gloves, but these were the warmest gloves I'd ever owned and not be mittens. Back in business again!

Lola and Philpug gave me a bird feeder in the shape of a gondola! It has skis on the outside and is too cute. It put a big smile on my face.:snow:

Santa brought everyone in Aspen 10" of freshies!!! Thanks Santa...it was a merry Christmas indeed!

Then my sweetie got me a really nice pair of Swany gloves & a Hot Chilly's long underwear top. My birthday is tomorrow - so he got me and my beaten ski body a massage at the St. Regis. What a guy!!

AND - my mom got me an Osprey Ski pack so I can hike the Bowl in style as well as some Smartwool ski socks and long underwear. I told everyone that anything ski-related would be awesome. I guess they all listened!!

Besides the beautiful 8 inches of snow here in Denver, I got Marmot Randonee mitts! Yay! My old gloves are definitely past their prime. I even got to try out my new mitts by going sledding on Christmas afternoon! Now I'm ready for Steamboat for New Year's!!

My husband bought me a couple of flax-seed filled fabric pillows that I use to warm up with at night and soothe sore muscles and two beautiful glass bowls from a local glassblower.

My kids gave me a variety of thoughtful gifts, including a "cupon" from my 11 year old for a back or foot massage (my choice) and a beautiful drawing from my 14 year old who is really talented as an artist with the following written on the back: "All the work that went into this picture was worth it, because I know how much you work to make all of us happy. And thank you for that!" This from the child whose last nerve I appear to get on a lot lately....

Skiing conditions tomorrow at our local hill are decent and all 4 kids are packing their lunches, getting their parkas and other stuff ready, and I'm about to pack the Thule box. Woo hoo!

Bike gear, mostly, including a computer. But also two Mountain Hardware tops and a Transpack boot bag--even got to use the boot bag while skiing Christmas Day!
