So I hopped on a pair of SL ski's

Good hunting!
My skis are Fischer My Curv, 163cm. I'd let you try them, it's a system binding that's easily adjusted, except for the matter of geography. They're a women's frontside carver. They do fine in cut up snow that's not too deep.
Darn geography :laughter:
What are yours underfoot? The only reason I ask is that when mentioning various options to Andy he said I might as well go all out and get something completely different to what I'm on hence I ended up on a SL which I kind of agree with. I'm more than happy to get those first few morning laps on a truly groomer specific ski, especially if they perform like the one's I tried, then switch them out for my K2's when it gets a bit more cut up. We literally park at the bottom of the lift so its no hassle to bring up 2 pairs then swap them out.

68mm underfoot

It's considered upper intermediate/advanced. Two sheets of titanal and minimal rocker.

I found this thread, which sounds relevant to our discussion -

So its been a lot harder than I thought to get my hands on a pair but I've managed to borrow a pair of Rossi Hero MTE's in 150cm which is probably a bit too short but to be honest beggars can't be choosers at this stage and I did enjoy the 150's I tried a few weeks ago.
Im sure in about 3 weeks time the market will be flooded with suitable options but my course is in 10 days time so the MTE's will just have to do :laughter:

Often times the best deals are to be found near the end of the season or in the off season. I'll often buy skis during these times.

Exactly, these will do for the course and I'm sure once all the people doing their instructors exams, which I think are happening in the next week or two, have finished there will be some pop up for sale.
