Get out! Wow, with the amazing snow they had this year, it's going to be a short off-season in CO!

I LOVE living in Colorado. If we start mid-October like we have the last 3 seasons then I'm only 3.5 months from skiing. :D

It starts mid October???

I didn't know that . Fabulous, another unforeseen benefit of my geographical relocation. I didn't know it was going to be so sunny here either, with cool evenings.

I knew it was going to be good, I didn't know it was going to be this good.:dance:

Gosh I hope we get an early ski season. Last season the first snow was actually in October, although it wasn't anything skiable. Meanwhile, half of California is on fire!

I wish I lived in CO. We don't get a good snow until early December, sometimes LATE December!!! :(

Holy Cow!! We don't even have our Open House at our ski resort until mid October... then it's a wait to see when it gets cold, and when it'll snow...

Wow!

Any Colorado Front Range Divas interested in joining the mayhem on opening day for A Basin or Loveland? - depending on which mountain opens first. I haven't heard any news on which will be the first. Anyway, I've always thought it would be a blast if I could ever get together with a bunch of people and be there on opening day.

Abasin announced yesterday on one of the local channel that it hopes to open in 6 weeks.

That's right girls...six weeks.:yahoo:

It's just crazy!

sdskiqueen - an opening day diva bonanza, I'd be interested in that. It would be a fine start to my first ever Colorado ski season.

Opening day can be fun but be prepared to ski the white ribbon of death. There's usually only 1 or 2 runs open and everyone and their brother and sister is there. The snow is almost always all manmade, a little icy. Don't get me wrong, it can be a fun day, but be prepared for long lines, crowded slopes, and suboptimum conditions. My advice is take a few runs, then converge in the lodge (works at either Loveland or the Basin) for a drinky-poo.
