I’m not one to attend a lot of concerts, which is sad because I live within 40 minutes of one of a greatest concert venue's, Interlochen Arts Academy.
Some months ago, a girlfriend urged me to attend the Trace Adkins concert, to which I said, “Get four tickets when the go on sale and we’ll make it a Girls Night Out(GNO)”
She did and it was easy to get two other girls to take advantage of this opportunity.
I know what you’re thinking…………”Country!?” But let me tell you, even the country music hater, would have loved this concert!
Let me introduce you to my gal pals:
Left to right
Alison, Beth, Cindy, and Me(complete with my Sht kickers, which I hadn’t worn in 10 years)
Does this look like trouble?
We left a few hours early and Stopped at the Buckley Bar for dinner, having been told they have good food. It is a hole in the wall type bar, with typical bar type food, Not the typical place you’d think of when planning a night on the town, but the food was in deed good, and the place wasn’t packed so we were able to get in and out, and on our way to Kresge Auditorium at Interlochen Arts Camp.
Storms were predicted so we were a bit unsure if it would be chilly off the lake, but it was actually comfortable, and beautiful.
Beth did a good job getting decent tickets at a decent price as we were in tier two at the head of the aisle in row two so we didn’t miss a thing.
The opening act was Eric Church Band, with great hits like Can’t take it with you, Guys like me(one of my favourites) among many others. He was worth the price of the ticket!
When Trace Adkins came out(this is for the ladies) and started to perform, there were a few things that I noticed right away, like his bulging muscles, tight jeans, ……..the complete package, and that voice, ooooooooooo my ski gear isn’t the only thing that quivers.
No matter the type of music you like, I’d bet you would have had a blast with me and my gal pals on our GNO!
