Skis for daughter - 17yo

I hope you can give me some ideas.

My daughter was hit by an out of control adult male skier three years ago -hit and run -and suffered a really tough break (surgical screws) and whole leg cast difficult for a 14year old to deal with. She responded by NEVER skiing again.
Last night she informed us that she wanted to ski this year with her friends !!!!!
now the tough part. what skis?
She used to be a pretty fearless intermediate kid skier on groomed blue and green runs. She used Burning luvs (demo pack) this was too much ski for her, she then demoed the True luv's and that was the day she had her accident. So she does not want those skis.
I want to go fairly cheaply as, who knows if she will continue or get really good fast.
Any ideas? I'm all about used , but need some brand and line starters as well.
Help

Volkl Luna is a great intermediate ski with good ice grip and that isn't too demanding. Last year's Lunas are good as are the Attiva AC2s from prior season, which is essentially the same ski.

Congratulations to your daughter for getting out there again. It will be nervewracking for both of you I'm sure. Hope it's a safe a fun season for your family.

Since you're not sure if she's going to stick with it it might be wise to let her demo a few times before buying skis. You can get some recommendations from a trusted shop, and maybe she can find something she will feel confident on.
