Skis for beginner?!

I’m asking for my sis-in-law who has 2 little kids and no computer time to ask here… She and her family recently moved to VT. Her DH skis. Her 4 yr old is taking lessons. And her 2 yr old is begging to. So she has to catch up. She’s taken a few lessons at a small local hill and is ready to own her own equipment. I’ve encouraged her to demo before buying, but it may not happen. She’ll probably pick up a great deal at a summer sale or ski swap. But I’d love to give her some fun, easy-to-learn-on 2007/08 skis to look out for. Here are her specs: 5’ 8’, 135ish? has good balance as used to be a gymnast, skis on greens and easy blues. Conditions will probably be mostly eastern variety: groomed packed powder and hardpack, with some corn snow and ice thrown in. Soooo, what might she look out for and at what length?
Thank yuuuuuu!

Oh, you are going to get a list. So before all the K2 and Volkl lovers get in here I'll suggest the following;
length - 180-160cm
Salomon - Topaz (if she can stand the colour)
Rossi - Attraxion III or V
Atomic - Cool Minx, Hot Minx, Sweet Mama.
Any of those would do her fine for a few years.

K2 First Luv - and I believe there is a terrific price on them right now at evogear.
Dynastar Exclusive 8 - easy turning and fun, don't buy too short (deals on eBay)

I'd suggest K2 sweet luv or true luv from your description. As for length I'd guess a 160. Preference to the True Luv.

:booboo:

that length should be 150-160cm. Not 180. I don't think there are too many skis at 180 anymore.

I'm a beginner, and I have Fischer Vision 20's that I love. They've changed their naming, though. I think the Vision Aspire is the equivalent.
