Skiing New Years Resolutions.

Okay, Divas, 2007 is almost here. Anyone have any ski-related resolutions for the coming year? Post 'em if you got 'em.

Here are mine:

1) I will get in more ski days this year than last (a real challenge given the poor conditions so far in the northeast);
2) I will improve my mogul skiing;
3) I will try at least one new ski area.

1) help some less fortunate kids experience skiing
2) Moguls, Really accomplish moguls
3) Catch some air and learn a trick. I'm thinking a helicopter

I don't know that I can do it, but its my goal to make it happen.
I attempted catching some air on Sunday and successfully landed after several attempts.

Now to get the comfort zone to do a trick.
Anyone know someone who can teach me how to do a helicopter?

1. Become proficient in powder
2. Not do a helicopter, but ski from a helicopter

I saw a kid doing a heli off the lip on Thor last night. Then I watched him rip down Thor making sweet short turns.....I tried to catch him to see if he would be interested in teaching you, but....he actually outskied me and I lost him :( :o :eek:

What kind of friend are you? I thought you'd make a bigger effort to get me a coach;)

Well, I know this pilot... ;)

Seriously, I'll bet if you went into the terrain park, you could find someone who would think it would be cool to teach a lady to do a heli!

Now for my resolutions:

My husband and I have been doing more adventurous skiing every year. We've worked our way up to snowcat skiing and backcountry touring. We also are skiing inbounds terrain at resorts that is comparable to what you find out of bounds. In those environments, you have the option of skiing some lines that are very challenging, if you feel up to it. Since you just never know when you'll be presented with a situation that gives you no choice, I want to be ready for two that put me WAY outside of my comfort zone right now.

As I mentioned in a thread on Epic, I want to work on getting comfortable skiing chutes that have rock cliffs on both sides. I know I can ski a tight line, because I ski tight trees, but the whole idea of rock cliffs rising above me on both sides really spooks me. I've got to get over that.

Also, my husband and I would BOTH like to learn to be comfortable dropping small airs, nothing more than 10 feet or so (at least for now ;) ).
