I'm constantly building up my ski library. My BF just ordered this one for me for Xmas (on my recommendation, of course). I can't wait to unwrap it on Xmas morning.

Any other ski-related book recommendations are always appreciated!!

You are a patient woman waiting over 6 months! I love that book - got it for Christmas a couple of years ago. I wish they filled the runs in on the maps, though!

Think @marzNC posted about that book some time ago. Very cool.

I really liked Warren Miller's biography, Freedom Found.
Also:
The Edge of Never, by William A, Kerig. The story of taking Trevor Peterson's son, Kyle to Chamonix to ski where his Dad was killed in an avalanche.
The Next 15 Minutes by Kim Kircher. Her story about dealing with her husbands illness using her life on the mountain.

And in a not so serious tone:

Fade to White and Double Black by our own @ski diva.

I thoroughly enjoyed the two books about the ski industry by Chris Diamond: Ski Inc., and Ski Inc. 2020. He had to do a quick revision just before the second book was released because Vail Resorts bought Peak Resorts that summer.

Maybe your favorite ski area has a book? I have a nice glossy hardback (not quite a coffee table book but close) called Skiing Sun Valley. There's another I'd like called Sun Valley: An Extraordinary History but it's $200+ and I don't want it that badly.

Or maybe there's a local photographer you like that that has a coffee table type book of snowy mountains and skiing? I have this from a local photographer I already knew and liked, of areas that I like.

Where to Ski and Snowboard 2016 edited by Chris Gill and Dave Watts. It's almost 10 years old but I've picked several European resorts based on the book. There was another one in 2006 I believe.

Rick Richards' book Ski Pioneers: Ernie Blake, His Friends, and the Making of Taos Ski Valley is not only a history of Taos Ski Valley, but also provides insight into the entire generation who created iconic ski mountains in the 1950s and 1960s. Richards was able to interview quite a few people, including Ernie Blake.

Sun Valley magazine is sitting on my coffee table.

Revelstoke museum sells a lovely book about the history of skiing in the area, lots of interesting stories and great old photos: https://www.revelstokemuseum.ca/sho...toric black and,in our stunning mountain town.

Snowboarding rather than skiing, Eric Blehm's book The Darkest White is a fascinating and disturbing account of snowboard pioneer Craig Kelly's life and death. I learned alot about the early days of snowboarding, and thought that the account of the avalanche was extremely well done - respectful and informative.

Thanx all. I own many of these, but some are new to me and I've added them to my list!

Thanks for the mention, @Jilly.

Another really good book: "Powder Daze," by Heather Hansman. It's nonfiction, and it's a journey into the hidden history of American skiing, along with a look into the disappearing ski bum lifestyle from the perspective of an insider. I interviewed the author here in The Ski Diva blog.

I like these:
1. In the Yikes! Zone: A Conversation with Fear, by Mermer Blakeslee
2. For the Love of It: The Mammoth Legacy of Roma and Dave McCoy, by Robin Morning
3. My Life in Winters: The Extraordinary Tale of One Man's Journey Through the Rise of the Ski Industry, by Mike Ewing
4. American Ski Resort: Architecture, Style, Experience, by Margaret S. Smith (coffee table book, out of print?)
5. The Sun Is a Compass, by Caroline Van Hemert - extends beyond skiing, this is a great adventure book!
