Skiing and supplements

Last year, my husband suggestd that we both take a vitamin supplement before and after skiing. So we both took a supplement which contained calcium, magnesium, and zinc. My husband claimed that this supplement would relieve those burning thigh feelings and it seemed to me that he was right (Yes, Phil was right!). Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon? Is there actual scientific evidence that shows a vitamin supplement of calcium, magnesium and zinc will not make your thighs burn? Are there other supplements out there that will help my skiing?

There is a great deal of information on this product, and a lot of positive results

I think this is the product they talked about on Epic.
I used another product I found at my local health food store.
Some are powders to mix in your water, and some are in pill/capsule form.

I wouldn't try to tackle a serious ski day with out my supplements.

I have recently been taking L-Glutamine after my weight workouts (I lift heavy with less reps) and have found that my muscle soreness the next day is MUCH less pronounced and does not last anywhere near as long. It helps the muscle fibers repair easier.

I take 2000mg after a weight workout and 1500mg each night before bed (though some bodybuilders take much more, this amount seems to work for me). There is a great deal of information here...

If you scroll down far enough, there is specific information about athletes.

I'm going to try it this year after skiing to see if it helps me recover for the next day faster.

This being said, I am a supplement addict. I take so many capsules and pills each morning, that they fill a small bowl.
