Well divas,

I have spent the last 2 days at Buttermilk as an instructor.

Day 1: 8 level 3 boys. About 6-8 years old. All hellions. But what a fun day! We had a blast.

Day 2 (today): 9 level 1 beginner teens and one adult. Ugh...am I tired! Luckily I was paired with another instructor. (Whom I should have snapped a photo of because ladies, this guy was god's gift to just about everything.) :eyebrows:

Anyway, I'm headed back again tomorrow!! I'm glad I was asked to help out, I've never really done anything like it before!

It sure does feel different when you're trying to share the love of the sport with children and newbies doesn't it? So, does this mean you're going to start doing it more regularly?

Glad you had a good time! But oh boy, it really is hard work. Can you imagine doing this full-time??? No wonder my son burned out after a couple of years....

My full time job is behind my desk at Aspen Skiing Company. All year, Monday thru Friday.

Spring break time is when we do 35% of our annual business, so for the next few weeks we want to make sure the guests are our #1 priority (not the big pile of stuff on my desk). Without guests, we are nothing and we want to make sure they are here having the best time possible. So me, the execs, the marketing folks, the PR folks, the events people...everybody is out there lending a hand.

Also, the J1B visa workers have recently all gone back home - so we are desperately short-staffed. So, instead of me working behind the computer, I'm out on the hill! I will certainly be instructing again during our peak times next season...but I think I'll keep my day job!

Sounds like a blast! You are fortunate both to have the opportunity to do it once in a while and not to have to instruct FT!

That's awesome. Fun and frustration in the same job.

But a few days getting to be outside on the hill would be worth the headaches, I would guess.

How cool, though, to get to have such a different work experience!
