Tonight is one of a few nights of the year that Caberfae Peaks has a special sponsored by the local radio station. Peak 97.5. You can ski at Caberfae Peaks for 97 Cents from 5 pm til 9 pm.

Can anyone beat that price?

It was nuts last night! It seemed like everybody getting the 97 cent lift ticket was also renting snowboards  .

I had one ride right over the fronts of both my skis while I was skiing and knock me down  .

And they kept scooting through the race course, cutting the racers off....I think we ended up having 6 people have to do re-runs.

Yup, deals like that bring out the freak show. Maybe a fence would be a good idea for your race course?! The freaks just seem to need a visual barrier, just telling them to stay away, brings them on!

It was roped off but they kept ducking the rope (onto a closed slope)above the course then scooting back through the course at the bottom (when they couldn't go any farther on said closed slope  )

I had previous plans to go to Crystal to meet up with some friends from TC. When I was heading home Johnny P called me to ask how it was (he'd met up with friends at Caberfae).

He said it was a zoo!
And he said they had all their snow guns running all night long, which caused some visibility issues in spots.

Crystal conditions- No lift lines, steady amount of skiers/boarders. Constant snow falling about 1/4 inch on the chairs each time you sat down. Perfection.
We skied the woods section over and over. It looked like no one had been in there for a few days so we got 6" of fresh all to ourselves.

The snow that was falling reminded me of Peanuts snow.
The kind that Charlie Brown stuck his tongue out to catch.

I have no regrets for going to Crystal:D

Except for racing on Wed nights, we always choose Crystal over Caberfae. Crystal isn't quite as steep but otherwise has better terrain variation, better chairs, waaay nicer lift ops, and much better grooming.
