Ski Swap/Sales

So, who's been to a "live" ski swap and sale? Is it complete chaos? I'm planning to go to one with my mother this weekend to see if we might be able to find a decent pair of skis for my little sister. I don't think I'd buy boots at a ski swap though since the fit is so personal and sizing seems to vary so much from brand to brand.

So, am I in for a lot of pushing and shoving and sprinting around trying to snag the decent skis?? :injured:

I think it really varies from swap to swap. You might want to post which one you're going to as other Divas might have been to it in the past.

It depends. We go to at least 3 every year. At the High School, we can get there about an hour early and wait in line inside. At Crystal, we need to get there 1-2 hours early and we have to stand around in the dark am outside. Finally, at Traverse City, they have a 2-dayer, but on day 1, you stand in line outside to get numbered entrance tickets, then you can go eat or whatever until they open at 9am. Once you have a numbered ticket, they let you in in batches of 50, by number, every 15 minutes. We got there a little after 6am this year and were #s 158 and 159. Someone a little further up said they were there at 5:10am.

In general, everyone goes straight to the skis, so that's where you'll find the flying elbows. Fortunately, it's nothing like Black Friday.
