Report:
Started out my 3rd ski season on opening day at my home mountain! Woohoo!!! A few gremlins to deal with considering my ACL tear in February and just general life stuff, but I made it. I used to warm up for a few runs on the beginner area to break in my boots, but one of DH's buddies joined us so I went straight to the top with them where the only way down was one intermediate trail or the other (for me). :D I was on my Roxy Joyriders (which I've barely skied on before) in my basically new Nordica Olympia Beast 10 boots, so new equipment for me to get used to. Nervous about my injury, nervous about making a fool of myself in front of DH's friend, but I did well. I didn't look pretty and my turns were really sad looking, but I made it down. And again. And again. And again. :D DH ditched me a few times to ski the moguls, but his friend accompanied me down so I wasn't alone. We skied 8:30AM-11:30AM.
A few things:
*It's great to get out again!!!!!!
*CW-X is a god-send! Great stuff; really helped manage muscle fatigue while I was skiing. I was a tad warm wearing that an unlined ski pants in the temps we're having today, but it was worth it for the benefits.
*Whatever my new boot guy did to my boots, he should be worshipped! My feet have never felt so good in ski boots before. Barely any cramping at all, went away quickly, the part that I thought was irritating me was fine when I skied. Very nice indeed!
*I need some stance work. LOL. Who doesn't!
*I'm liking the Joyriders. Cut through all that frozen crap nicely. Hoping to try out the Line Celebrities tonight if it doesn't firm up too much. It's supposed to be in the 40s today (46*F last time I checked) so might be okay.
My season has started!

My season has started!

Looking forward to day 2 tomorrow!
They worked great on the variable conditions that were out there (loose granular, hardpack, ice, crud). I'll have to ski the Celebrities a few more times before I make an assessment on them, but the Joyriders are going NOWHERE anytime soon!
