Ski related but not done skiing

I have a seasonal rental condo at Tremblant. The management company has been terrible with snow removal as usual this year. When said snow melts it runs down the sloped "natural stairs" and freezes. Well late yesterday afternoon I decided since I had a prepaid tune up, I would take my skis to the shop and get them done.

Mistake one....always wear my "spikes". Slide on the ice, landed on my butt, skis went off to the right, but my left land landed on ground. I wear a large Garmin watch on that wrist. I think the Garmin broke my fall enough, that I've only sprained my wrist and not actually broken it.

Add in a slip on the road way with ski boots on back in December, where I hurt my left knee as it hit the road. I've had enough of bad maintenance around here.

And everything is on my left side of the body.

Yikes, is the condo property not concerned with people getting hurt there? Seems like quite a liability.

I don't want to cause issues for my owner. But i'm suprised that one of the many Air BnB people hasn't sued or at complained. I can move it, so I don't think it's broke. But damn I was just starting a week up here and today is the first day in a long time the sun is shining!!!!

Doing cold water "baths" of the whole hand. The cold water here, is really cold. Fill up the sink and soak as long as I can stand it. Bruises coming up today.

It actually looks better than when I sprained both thumbs. But hurts...Cold soaks are helping. And some Acetaminophen 500mg. Can't take Ibuprofen anymore.

So I came home from Tremblant yesterday. I spent all of last season not being able to ski up there, so why stay. I've an appt with family doctor this morning.

I've been icing and taking Tylenol. (Can't do Advil anymore) So I'll see what else he suggests. Not sure if its the end of the season or not.

What's the verdict on your wrist? I broke a bone (non-displaced crack) in my wrist by falling on the grip of my ski pole one March. It was a slow gentle fall, soft snow, no biggie.... but still I ended up with a painful broken wrist. I spent hours in the emergency room, and got a kevlar wrist-wrap from them that helped me keep the wrist stable for weeks. That was my last season-ending injury and it took all spring and part of the summer for the wrist to get back to normal.

I hope your wrist heals fast.
