Ski dreams.....

:bump: Figured I'd bump this up for the off season. I have ski dreams all the time -- usually a few times a week, anyway.

Last night I dreamt that I'd taken off my ski boots in a ski lodge somewhere and couldn't remember where I'd put them, and the lifts were closing in five minutes and if I didn't find them right away I couldn't ski. Ugh. Very frustrating!

I had the weirdest dream two nights ago.
I dreamt that my boss at the ski shop was holding an all employee mandatory meeting at 6 AM.
When we showed up to the meeting we walked into the front door of the ski shop but it didn't go into the ski shop it went into the storage room of the office where I used to work in Michigan (my ex husband's family business). In the storage room a table was set up and a white board with some topics typical of a ski shop employee meeting like loss prevention and such, and all of my coworkers were there, as well as my ex. My boss took a look at my ex and said, "I didn't hire you. Don't you have somewhere else to be?"

That's it. Weird. The only thing I could think is that I really like my new boss. He's amazing.
And...recently talking about the divorce with a friend who is going through a divorce has caused some time of reflection.

When I have ski dreams, they're usually pretty awesome - me skiing powder the way I always like to imagine I ski powder, but rarely do.

Of course .. in my dreams the powder is a perfectly even consistency with no surprises.

You're fortunate. My ski dreams are almost always frustrating - trying to coordinate people and equipment and never quite having everything, or riding the chair and I'm missing my boots and skis when I try to get off, or the lifts are closing in 10 minutes and I can't find my skis.

Sometimes I start my sleep thinking of skiing slopes filled with perfect powder, but I never seem to hang onto those thoughts when I dream.

I may try that tonight.

You know, I think I've had those dreams, but I just lump them together with general anxiety dreams. I have enough of those, no need to dwell ;-)

I have to revive this thread because:

I just dreamed that I was shuffling along on skis with a bunch of other skiers, properly attired, and I looked down and one of them was wearing dress boots on her feet. I started asking her what she was doing and then I woke up.

My husband often says he needs to become a dream interpreter.

I Googled it (naturally!) but I'm curious if anyone has anyone thoughts or wants to share any recent dreams.

This might be a fun summer topic!

I have had some ski dreams where I fly to my destination and land and have forgotten to pack all my ski stuff. Also had some more pleasant dreams where I'm skiing super steep glaciers and just cruising down like it's no big deal.

A lot of us seem to have ski dreams where we are frustrated. Right now I want to dream that I am skiing those endless fields of powder in South America. It sure wasn't like that when we were there, but it was still fun.

I don't often have classic dreams of skiing, but I do have vivid daydreams that include sensations of sliding on snow. I can feel the snow under my feet and imagine the sounds of the different kinds of snow.

That would work for me. Right now I'm icing my knee and the A/C is running and my hands are cold. Perhaps these stimuli will allow me to dream that winter has arrived. I can also try to recall the numerous photos I have seen recently from South America. Incredible! Perhaps that can also fuel my fantasy.

Did I mention the cold iced tea that I will be sipping on all night? It has neither calories nor caffeine so I drink it when I wake up and I'm a bit thirsty.

I suspect that most of us are tired of summer heat and eagerly awaiting a snowy ski season.

I'm a right bit torn actually, lol. I only get 8-10 weeks of true summer, and anything above mid 80's is not common, so I'm not often dealing with oppressive heat. I've only got about 4 weeks left to make the most of the beach and boat before jackets are necessary for both most days.

Once we hit jacket weather though, I feel like just get on with it and snow already. : )
