Ski Decorating.....

Well, Mr. NVG & I have been re-decorating our home with a LOT of ski themed items. (Remember the 10th mountain Division Skis & Poles that were his Wedding gift? They are proudly mounted on our Living room Walls!)...Anyway, I just bought myself a couple of really beautiful "Diva" Prints to hang in my office!

I love them!

Oh no, they ship to Canada. I've been looking for that Quebec poster. Mountain Chalet used to have it, but they moved out of Toronto.
As for our decor - we have shadow box with minature stuff in it. I has numerous pictures and posters that I've picked up in our travels. Also last year I bought a picture ski - plastic ski with space for 4 pictures. Just can't decide which pictures to put in it. I also have a cute bottle holder that I've got to downsize the pic to post.

^^^ There ya go. Any other favors I can impart? Will hunt down some of my other links, which I purposely did NOT bookmark so as to lessen my temptation.

A great project would be creation of a park bench made of skis. Did you catch the photo I posted in one of the new member intros? Somehow the thread meandered into that discussion. Will repost if interested. Not sure I quite have enough, but would love to hear about and/or see any other interesting, creative uses for old skis. I think I saw a neat coat rack made of skis once?

But, IMHO, the ultimate decor is a "Happy Wall." I was going to wait until spring to suggest this as an off-season project. This is a huge comglomeration of all your favorite ski pictures, all amassed in one place, in simple frames (it's not about the frames). Cheap is fine. Don't scatter your beloved favorite skiing pics around: put 'em all together, on one wall. The visual impact is terrific.

I started this a long, long time ago (obviously). The simple frames make it easy to rotate pics, but our favorites/classics stay.

Make it a highly visible wall - out of the sun if possible to prevent photo fading.

Not until we moved to mountain country was this as appreciated by visitors and guests. Plus, it will make you smile every time you pass by.

MSL, I like how you have those in shadowbox clear acrylic frames... it makes the pics look like their floating. I like that!

They're getting harder to find these days, though. (given where I live...) Especially important is the fact that they don't BREAK (okay, they might crack?), since the door is an entry door. This is such an easy project now, with printers, etc. Pre-printer days, it was all about enlargements (this project started over 30 years ago with half a dozen or so pics). Easy to change pics out also.

Great idea. As if anyone doesn't have the pictures. Its geting them on the wall. Your arrangement looks great!! And many hard earned days to get there.!!
