Ski boots/carry on question

Has anyone carried ski boots with Hotronic heaters installed on an airplane? Did the TSA say anything to you/give you a hard time-- what with trying to bring footwear through security with wires attached (like that shoe bomber a few years back)?
Am I correct in thinking that once you get them installed you can't just easily take them in/out.
I'm thinking of getting Hotronics, as the middle toes on my both my feet get chilblains-- but it seems like flying with them might be problematic and the last thing I need is to have them try and confiscate my boots or make me check them when at that point I wouldn't even have a bag to put them in.
Anyone with experience with flying with Hotronics?
Thanks

I just flew to Utah with Hotronics and didn't have a problem. I didn't leave them connected, though -- I carried by boots on in my Transpack, but I disconnected the Hotronic battery units and stowed them in the gear compartment. All went through x-ray with no problem, and no one searched the pack, so there was no difficulty with that, either.
