Hi fellow Divas!!!

I haven't posted in a while because I've been consumed with preparing for my Level III exam! But, I wanted to announce that I got my coveted Level III pin this past weekend at Schuss!!!!:yahoo:

I was one of the 3 that passed out of 18 candidates and it feels GREAT!:ski2:

I didn't let anybody know until after they had announced that I had passed that I'm 4 months pregnant!:ROTF: Oops! Hubby had a V about 7+ years ago, but God had other plans apparently! I was affraid that if I told the examiners, they'de be afraid to let me on the hill for fear of a lawsuit if something happened. I also didn't want any special treatment.

When I went back to Alpine on Monday, I learned that the shop had given me a pair of beater demo skis, instead of my skis that I had taken in for a performance tune before I left. I didn't notice because they were just like mine. I did think that they looked a little scratched up, and when I skied on them, I even took them back to the shop to complain because the edges seemed really funky and the bindings needed adjusting. Then after skiing on them all weekend at my exam, when I got home, after learning about the error, I noticed that the din was on 9. Mine are set to 6.

So anyway, I've think that I've earned some bragging rights this weekend after passing my Level III on the first try, while being 4 months pregnant and on beater demo skis! :humble:

Thanks to all of the Divas here for any words of advice or just plain words of encouragement over the last couple of years! GIRLS RULE!

:yahoo: :fireworks: WOW WOW WOW!! And do I ever know how TOUGH this exam is!!! Not from personal experience, but via my other family members.

And passing it on YOUR FIRST TRY???

And the OTHER NEWS!!!!!

Way to go, snowmiser! Hmmm, wonder if the pending new addition will be a skier? FOR SURE. (Same circumstances with one of my fitness instructors, BTW.)

The gold pin, the gold standard. And the perks and prestige that go along with it----like you wouldn't believe (or maybe you already know). It's the "magic card" you just flash anywhere in the USA, and it's sometimes a gratis lift ticket. Always a significant discount.

Your ski story is simply unbelievable. The whole story just rocks. Thanks for making my day!

Thanks MSL! Love the fireworks!!! Not sure of what all of the perks are yet, but it feels like an olympic gold to me!

As far as the baby goes, I tried to find out the sex in an ultrasound on Monday, but it's legs were moving up and down so much we couldn't get a good view. The kids got great form as a mogul skier though! :D.

I like the happy face ballons too SkiDiva! Thanks for the props!!!

Congratulations! To be one of 3 out of 18 that passed is incredible. And how funny that baby was doing mogul action in your belly! By the way, my co-coach last year became pregnant in December (blizzard baby) so she coached most of our season pregnant and was more tired than usual but other than was fine. She has a beautiful baby girl now.

Hi Robyn!

I conceived in early December and have been on the hill pretty much every day since. I was super tired early in the season and a little scatter brained! (Baby Brain). I thought I was going through my early change because my identical twin sis had. Had no reason to expect a pregnancy because of my husband's surgery 7 years ago. I went to the doc expecting to be put on hormone replancements or to get bad news, but instead got the surprise of a lifetime and prenatal vitamins! :D.

I've already been told that the kid will have to be called Goldie, or maybe Stien, Bode, or Peek-a-Boo!

Congrats on 2 Levels! WOW! That's great! :dancing: :dancing:

You could PLAY Peek-a-boo....but if it's a boy, I vote for "Jeremy!" He's sure to "Bloom" into quite a hottie! :eyebrows:

Congrats again! :cheer:

congrats! And, how cute, [thinking of the remember-the-first-time-you-skiied thread] your baby will know when s/he skiied for the first time!

WooHoo

Wow, my instructor is LIII and I always call him Fred Astaire, so I can only imagine how graceful you must look when you ski. And just think...no high heels, but PG and on crappy skis. That is GREAT!

I'll have to head on down and have a lesson from you next season!

That's when I conceived my third kid. Tell everyone that it's the perfect time to get pregnant and not miss a day on the slopes. Even after a c-section (DS born a little early - end of August), I was up on skis by Nov/Dec. I remember in late March/early April feeling it, couldn't pull my legs up so fast/high in moguls and realized it was just time to give it up for the year. My little guy is now 2.5yo and has been skiing 4-5 days at the Sunday River magic carpet, and got his first chairlift ride last weekend - he was born to ski - DH swears he was even turning on his own lol... That in-utero training is priceless...

Funny what you think your body is up to...my DH's cousin swore she was having a gall bladder attack, or some major stomach problems...lol...nope, just a baby in there! For me...once the heartburn and insomnia hit...the surprise was over lol...

And congrats on it all!

Snowmeiser! You definitely deserve the kudos that comes with that accomplishment!
I love it that you're turning the baby into a skier before the little bumper even knows it!!!

Some day he/she will say:
Why am I the national Bump Champion? Well, because I've been an excellent bumper since I was in the womb!!!

Hi SnowHot!

I love your mantra of "Decide that you want it more than you're afraid of it". That's exactly what I did!!!!

Thanks!
