Scrabulous and Facebook!!

Guess I might not be making that Nummy O'Scrabble account on the facebook :(

Maybe there'll be some sort of official Scrabble add on in the future?

Last week, Facebook launched a new version of Scrabble Beta, by hasbro, available to those in the US and Canada.
I could see the hand writing on the wall..............
Its going to take some "getting used to".
This morning I went to my Scrabble Beta game and played.
Then I checked on my Scrabulous games, and NO!!!!!

Scrabulous is disabled for US and Canadian users until further notice. If you would like to stay informed about developments in this matter, please click here.

This is awful. I play with friends in the UK and they can't play the new scrabble game.

Sorry ladies, I know we have a game in progress, but I am deleting hasbro's game version from my facebook in protest.

Can't say I'm surprised that it's been disabled. As much I loved playing Scrabulous, it does seem like Hasbro may have a case for copy infringement.

I'm really going to miss my games with Astrid, as well as the snowheads. :(

According to SnowHeads, they feel that they will be shut off soon also. Waiting for the Hasbro version to be available to them.

I'm bummed in a big way.
I wonder how much good will Hasbro will lose, even though they are in the right with copyright infringement?

There are other ways to deal with this problem that could result in an amicable solution for all. Here are some articles that describe alternative solutions and what this change may mean for Facebook as well.

Check out the comments all over the web. Is a pyrrhic victory in the best interest of Hasbro?

This case is becoming big in Norway as well... The medias are discussing it the same way as in the US and in Canada. For me it means no playing until they decide on what to do, since I'm living in Norway and we only have access to Scrabulous, and not the Scrabble beta you have over there.

Sorry SH. I have enjoyed playing with you and hope we can pick it up again soon. Until then... Good luck with your games on Scrabble Beta.

For now its just me and SkiDiva.
The game runs slow and needs some tweeks before I will enjoy it as much as scrabulous.

I'll miss you terribly Astridhj:Cry:

Whooo hooo!
I woke this morning to a request by Astridhj to make my move on lexulous!
I click on the link and all my old games from Scrabbulous are there but with a new name and a few other tweeks to make it not exactly like scrabble.
I made my move. If any of you have a game going with me, go play
bklyn, this means you!!!

Yes, I missed it a lot, so I was very happy when I saw they had started up again. Your move, SH!
