Anyone ski the Salomon Mynx? Thoughts? I was going to buy K2's Lotta Luv, and then on a whim tried the Mynx. They were pretty fun. The major plus for me with the Mynx is that they are much lighter than the Lotta Luvs. I frequently have to carry my skis PLUS my two boys' skis, so weight is an issue.

Last year I decided to get the Volkl 5stars instead of the K2 Burnin Luvs, partially because the K2s were too heavy for me, especially when I had my daughters with me. The Mynx also has the benefit of being a twin tip and that is a fun type of ski -- great for skiing backwards and seeing your kids on the hill. And they have a reasonable turning radius which makes them more of an all mountain ski than some other twin tips, like the Volkl Kaya.

How old are your boys? This season I bought my 10 year old daughter a ski carrier for $10 after watching her stumble around and complain carrying her gear last season (until she convinced me to carry it for her). It velcros around the skis in front and back of the bindings and she can manage it on her shoulder, so I'm no longer carrying her equipment. In fact, she sets it up and takes it off now on her own. It's called a Ski Lift Junior. Here's a link to the REI website where I purchased it:

The Mynx is very similar to my Salomon 1080's (the originals), which I absolutely love. "Fun" is the word that everybody uses to describe the ski. I'd consider getting the Mynx in a heartbeat.

I skied them today at Sunshine Village near Banff .... they were a blast !
There was nothing but powder today ....nothing groomed to be found anywhere on the hill 'cause the snow just kept falling !! I was making quick turns and larger turns. These skis respond right away to anything you want them to do. Would have liked to try them on more groomed runs, I bet they would be fun there too !!
