Roxy skis?

I had a chance to demo a pair of Roxy skis for free at Wachusett yesterday (2-25). It was a rather strange experience, and I came away with very little info, but here goes:
I am 5'7" and 160 pounds, aggressive skier but little experience in powder, because I ski mostly in the east and only get out west once a year.
Roxy had a free demo tent set up at the Wachusett base, so I thought I'd try a pair. There were two young women sitting in the tent, both very pleasant, but totally OUT THERE! They were snowboarders and knew nothing about the skis - and I mean nothing. They couldn't tell me what model I was demoing, what its dimensions were, or what conditions/type of skier it was best for. When it came time to adjust the binding, they told me to just "try it on" and if it fit, to "go for it". Anyway, it did fit, so I then filled out the "paperwork" without even being asked for a credit card or ID. I decided to chill out dude, go with the flow and take the skis for a spin.
Conditions were packed powder, groomed, and very little ice. I have to say I did have fun on these skis, and thought they might be what I'm looking for in a ski for soft snow/powder, although they might be a little narrow waisted for that.
When I got home, I went on the Roxy web site in my continuing quest to find out what the heck I'd been skiing on, but wouldn't you know, that particular ski wasn't anywhere to be found. I tried in vain to find it on other sites, all to no avail.
If anyone reading this can help me find out what ski this is, all I can tell you is the graphics are mostly orange with some pink in them, and they are not twin tips.
Don't you think it's weird to have people manning a demo tent who freely admit they know nothing about the products?

What worries me more is that, if they didn't know how to set the length of the binding to fit the boot, how would they know how to set the DIN? I am far from a gearhead, but even I can adjust bindings and DIN...

Sounds to me like a snowboard rep was trying to branch out a little too far, or the ski rep just didn't show, in which case no one should have been handing out skis. Either way, I would definitely write a letter to Roxy and let them know of your experience. Their rep was setting the company up for a huge lawsuit if something had gone wrong.

I know...looking back I probably should never agreed to demo anything there if they weren't able to set the bindings properly (and safely.)
I guess I was just lucky - and stupid - this time.

Enquiring minds want to know...............what were the skis?
too bad you didn't get a picture of them.

Did they have another design on them, polka dots, stripes, arrows?

They were sort of paisley - not the chevron design I've seen on the skis on the Roxy Web site. The only letters were "Roxy", next to the logo. The entire deck of the ski was covered in this paisley stuff. The bindings were sparkly pink - not bright pink, a dark pink-orange color. No dots, arrows or srtipes.
I looked for them everywhere, but I haven't seen anything that comes even close. It's not that I've decided that I have to have them, I just want to know what the heck I was skiing.
If I'd had a camera with me I would have taken a shot of them.
The very fact that I am even writing about this should be an indication of how slack the Roxy operation is. Do they want to sell skis or not?

Going through SkiPress I found Roxy on Pure Mountain. Strange skis. Not sure which one you had. Roxy is part of Quiksilver - Quiksilver is Dynastar and Rossi. Roxy are strictly women's skis, mostly on the Dynastar mold. Check out that site. I'm not computer literate, so I don't know how to place here or the pictures that are on that site.

I give up

Thanks for the tip on Pure Mountain. I checked it out, and the skis I demoed are not there.
I think I'm just going to give up on Roxy. I've spent way too much time on this, and there are plenty of other skis out there.

nope, not there either

Thanks for looking, SnowHot.
Unfortunately, the skis I demoed are not among those on the page.
Maybe they were last year's model, or one that's not out yet, or a ski sold only on Mars. Hey... maybe those reps were aliens!
As I said in my previous post, I give up.

green martian pow?

You never know. There could be snowmaking on Mars - remember, the planet used to have water...
You're right about the ski colors - yuck.

You don't like polka-dots?? Pink ones even. I agree not attractive at all. Ugly!

We used to joke in the surf shop I worked at that they make *everything* and apparently they do; although we were thinking mroe along the lines of first aid kits, pencil cases, and license plate covers... I did a double take when I saw a Roxy ski earlier this season, actually, although i'd heard Quiksilver had bought Rossignol. They could be flaky in the style over function department... could explain your weird demo experience :(

And they came up with some of the WEIRDEST clothing designs - looks like they still have that same odd Roxy style going...

The polka dots are cute in theory; but I wouldn't want to be seen on them - just make it that much worse when I wipe!

nope

The skis aren't there, but thanks anyway.
Roxy has officially lost a potential customer.

That's OK, I can take it.
Thanks to all the Divas who joined my quest to find the darned things!
