Ski Diva Extraordinaire
When I went to Austria a couple of weeks ago, my skis came a few days later than me. They didn't put them on the flight
So I had to rent skis for a couple of days.
On the first day they gave me the Stormrider XL, after I argued with the rental company with my limited german when they tried to give me totally boring skis. Length of the ski was 164. The ski is handmade in Switzerland, and I've been wanting to demo Stöckli skis for a while.
I skied in Bad Gastein in hardpack terrain due to them having limited new snow the last few months. And I have only one thing to say: WOW! If I wanted a pair of skis to only ski in the pistes where there is hardpack, I would absolutely consider these. Skiing red and black runs on icy conditions were like a dream.
On the second day they gave me a pair of Salomon skis I've never seen before, in 163. The ski felt too short, and I couldn't ski fast with them. Out in the powder, they felt hopeless, in comparison to my Auras, but when I jumped: I can tell you, these skis were amazing to jump with. Never felt that kind of control in a jump and during the landing before. But that was about the only thing they were good for for me. So if I ever decide to take up jumping and rails, I will consider a ski similar to these.
