review: K2 Missdemeanor

When I demo'd these skis two weeks ago, I loved them. My husband chided me for not buying them! He was like, if you keep trying skis you are never going to buy a pair because you will always find something else. So after it snowed over a foot in Maine last weekend, I decided I wanted those skis for the soft snow!

I have been skiing consistently now for a 5th season. I seem to be a K2 girl, I started on the 1st Luvs, and after becoming more advanced I ski the Burnin' loves because I liked the stability, carving and forgiveness, and knew I would grow with them. But damn I couldn't get through any crud or soft snow with them.

I never considered a twin tip, but the staff at SR sports told me I'd really have fun on them, and that really is the first and best word I'd use to describe these skis, FUN!

Me: 5'3". 120lbs. Not too aggressive of a skier, but can handle the nice wide black trails.
The K2 2008-09 Missdemeanor twin tip ski
113/80/104
Radius: 14mm/Standard Taper
K2 Bio-flex core
Performance: 40% - 60%

I put an Atomic binding on them, as it was lighter, and that is what I was going for given I want to use them in the trees and on days when the snow is soft and bumped up. I couldn't believe what a difference the weight and flexibility made! I was also pleased with how they carved and held on the hard pack. Like I said, I am not that aggressive of a skier, but I went with my little guy through the "family glade" and had a ball, then took two blue bump runs with him and had a much easier time getting down than I normally would've.

They are by no means a powder ski, but for me and the conditions here in New England, they really busted through the crud I would normally get hung up on. I am really excited I bought these skis.

As a side note, I took a lesson Friday, to help me in bumps, and the guy decided first he needed to correct all the flaws in my skiing! I have to say, I totally ripped it down the hill this weekend. My husband couldn't believe the difference in my skiing, he said I was practically straight lining it down the trail.

That's great! Sounds like you'll be skiing your MD's alot : ) I pretty much feel the same way about my K2 PE's, you'll like them even more as you continue skiing them.

The only limit I have really found is ice...but that's expected. Great energy in bumps and fresh snow...my favorite characteristic of the ski really.

Keep tearing it up out there on the new twins!

Thanks for the review! I bought a pair of MDs in November and have just FINALLY bought bindings for them. I'll have 'em mounted this weekend - I can't wait to get out on them!

And the more I read about people's positive lesson experience, the more I feel like I should take one. I haven't had a lesson in 20 years! I'm sure my technique is...in need. lol. :ROTF:
