Is it possible to replace demo bindings on a ski without totally ruining the ski??

Hey NVG I just had the Marker Speedpoints pulled off the Super Chargers that I picked up from the rep. I replaced them with a Marker Jester. The speedpoints were convenient but way to heavy! As long as you have a flat ski it shouldn't be that much of a problem. Sometimes you might have a few holes overlapping, then you have to choose whether you are going to move the binding placement a little forwards or slightly back.

I'm not sure what the difference is between a flat and a system. Can you help me out here? Would a picture help?

Which bindings came with the skis? Mine came with the Marker M1-11, which I believe is an integrated binding.

It looks like the Lotta is only offered as a system ski with the Marker M1. You may be able to find some on e-bay, but if you're not comfortable with knowing what you're looking for, just check with your local shop to see if they can order the correct binding/interace for you. They probably won't "just have any" since they're shipped and sold as a set.
Most system bindings can be replaced literally in minutes, so it should just be a matter of availability and $$.

Ok. Here are the pictures! They are the Solomons something or other. Is this good binding? I have no idea!
The little rainbow thing on the side is weird. I'd like to get some Markers M-11 for them, but will that be $$?

Pretty Heavy....but I guess I just want to make sure they are good bindings. Should I just leave them, or replace?

There's actually nothing wrong with that binding other than a possible weight penalty. They are a flat mount demo binding, so most any Solly should mount to the same set of holes, depending on your boot sole length.
The funky colored things are simply color coded markers to allow techs to set up the demo binding quickly and correctly. Each color bar should have a set of numbers representing boot sole length on them. They set the front to the appropriate color band (a broad range of sizes, like 5 or so), then the back fine-tunes the fit and forward pressure within the same color band (the actual boot sole length).
ps. judging by the picture, they are currently set forward by about 1-2cm.

The cool things about demo bindings:
The bad thing about demo bindings:
- You can loan your skis out to friends
- You can play with forward, centered, and back settings
- You don't have to have your bindings redrilled if you change boot sole lengths
The bad thing about demo bindings:
- Your hubby can steal your skis
- ANYONE can steal your skis :(
- They weigh a little more

No, I don't even know what they are (blush) and they are older than the skis. The gear head son-in-law even had them remounted on the Pocket Rockets, adjusting the center, filling the drill holes.
And they work great. Just get a good consult with a good gear guy to advise you. I'll let you know what my demo binding brand is---when I return from Boston tomorrow.
