QUICK. SOMEBODY STOP ME

So, my Power Thangs came and I am headed to Utah Th. morning. But as we all know, these carvers are not the ideal ski for Utah (and I could not leave them at home if I took my Nordicas). So, the plan is to haul myself, the two kids and 4 pairs of skis and all luggage and ski gear to Utah.

Until I came up with the ideal solution. The sales are mega in SLC right now and Level Nine Skis would sell me a pair of Head Monster im 77 (brand spanking new) for 250. w/ the head bindings that they will have ready for me Th.. Then, I leave both my skis at home, only take the kids' skis, and buy myself a pair of Utah powder skis which I then leave at my parents' house for when I ski in Utah and don't have to haul skis back and forth.

Yes? No? (I know I've come to the wrong crew if I am really, really trying to talk myself out of it... but can I talk myself into it?).

Actually, I think that's an excellent idea!

it would mean i would buy TWO pair of skis this week (and how would i explain THAT to the ddp?). and i bought a soft shell yesterday.

i would have gone from one pair of skis to three in 72 hours....

I was under the impression that a diva NEVER had to explain herself!:eyebrows: :humble:

Try to think of it more as a kind and thoughtful gesture to the poor overworked bag handlers at the SLC airport. :faint: After all they woundn't have to unload and load your skis for you if you buy a pair while you're there, and leave them at your parents. Very thoughtful and kind, quite a selfless act on your part really. It sounds like a great idea to me!

4 pairs of skis and kids. Ah, buy the monster and leave them in Utah. Less baggage!! As if you needed an excuse!!

No need to explain yourself... but if you must, there's always the angles of 2 kids and luggage are enough to handle at the airport without over-complicating the matter with your skis. And in the future you'll never have to fly with skis when you go there. And you're saving money, not spending. (I personally love that one!)

I like it

That's what my brother, who lives in Boston, does. A nice pair of pow tellies at my mom's house, for his visits home.

The only problem is when the rest of the family (sister-in-law, nephews, brother) discovered these, they've been a hot ticket on the Utah slopes this spring (sans their owner, who is in Boston).

The sales are great right now, for used and new skis. You can pick up a deal.

And the snow keeps coming. What a year. enjoy.

carrying 4 pairs skis + hassle - great deal on skis = not happy GPS = not happy ddp

carrying 2 pairs skis - hassle + great deal on skis = happy GPS = happy ddp

Also, you don't have to worry about you landing in SLC and your skis landing elsewhere.

And then show her some of the quiver pictures here and make her glad you ONLY have 3 pairs of skis!

I did it (meaning going from 1 pair to 3) in less than 24 hours! :D
Mr. NVG thought it was FABULOUS!!!!! :ROTF:

(but I heard him say under his breath, "Damn those Divas!" :D (not really!) )

They should be great skis for Utah (better than either of your current East Coast skis 99% of the time), plus, airlines are charging big $ for more than one bag these days (or starting soon), and it would probably cost you that much just to transport a pair of skis back and forth a few times, since you will be making regular trips and have a place to keep them in Utah, so there goes the financial reasoning.........let alone the hassle.
Have a great time, and we want a review of the new skis when you get back!

And we should stop you why?????? :noidea:

Um, yeah. What she said. :D

If I were feeling more *solvent* at the moment, I think I would have added about three pairs of skis to my household this week. Sales!
