I heard that A-Basin opened in Colorado this weekend, which got me wondering when other mountains will open, too.

Here are projected opening dates for Vermont resorts:

Killington: 11/15
Mount Snow: 11/17
Okemo: 11/18
Stowe: 11/18
Sugarbush: 11/22
Bolton: 11/24
Bromley: 11/24
Smuggler's Notch: 11/24
Stratton: 11/24
Burke: 11/25
Jay: 11/25
Mad River: 12/10
Saskadena Six: 12/14
Pico: 12/15
Magic: 12/22

Know any other opening dates? Post 'em here!

@ski diva where did Killington’s come from, out of curiosity? I didn’t think they set a date and were just asap like Sunday River. This morning Skiology Matt also projected the possibility that they could open Thursday or Friday of this week due to the snowmaking window starting tonight. If not then it looks like another week before snowmaking weather returns to get the possibility again after that.

Sugarloaf has estimated 11/17

Blue Mountain (PA): 11/24 (imo this is pretty optimistic for PA but we'll see)

I got all the opening dates from Onthesnow.com.

I’ve called Killington for early season dates and I follow Stowe and neither mountain has committed to any date. I wonder if that’s changed now that we have a below freezing days this week.

I’ve seen projections that they may be announcing opening tomorrow, later today. Stay tuned!

Sugarbush’s projected opening is still 11/18– as per our ski and ride director’s staff email earlier today. (Not 11/22) This obviously is projected, but fingers crossed. We did get 3 inches on Lincoln Peak today!

Not exactly an opening day, but the new Lone Peak Tram at Big Sky opens December 19. There's going to be a charity auction to determine who gets the first 45 seats. Winners will also be treated to champagne at the top of Lone Peak along with a "special momento."

Since I’m not on IKON this year, I’m tempted to check out Mt Norquay - never been! The early season ticket is quite reasonable at $50CAD.

Alta decided not to open on Nov. 17. Brian Head, Solitude, and Park City are still listed on SkiUtah as opening this Friday. Brighton always waits until a day or two before they are sure of an opening date to make an announcement. Solitude opened a lift Nov. 10-12, so presumably will be open again on Nov. 17.

From Alta website:

Updated: 11.11.2023 @ 4pm

Alta Ski Area will not open on November 17th.

At this time, our opening date is TBD as we wait for Mother Nature to do her thing—which means another two feet of snow or 8–10 days of snowmaking temperatures. Our operations team will meet on November 16th to reevaluate conditions. We hope to have more information regarding Opening Day of Alta’s 86th winter after this meeting. Thank you for your patience.
