Preseason Rituals Anyone?

Last night I went to the annual Rossland Mountain Film Festival.
Saw some great local films and to top it all off . . . a great live band to boogie down to!

I go every year and every year I'm inspired and ready for a new winter season
It brings together the great outdoor community I'm a part of and reminds us all what we live for!

This is my preseason ritual . . . and it just doesn't feel like the season's begun without it

So what are YOUR preseaon rituals?
Lucky clothing/gear, burning offerings to Ullr (the great God of Snow!), or whatever else inspires you to begin anew and rock it once again!

Warren Miller film in Boulder. Although I've usually skied a day or two before I actually see it but it still gets me excited for the season. Maybe I need to do that offering to Ullr. NVG, SkiNurse maybe we need to plan a mass offering?

Just putting on the boots ... maybe some of the other gear... and hanging around watching ski porn. The frequency of said ski porn viewing increases as the ski season gets closer. Though apparently we've been doing too much of that because our 2.5 year old daughter said the other day as I was selecting a movie, "no skiing!" LOL

I change my home decor from summer to winter. Take the morning glory vines up, replace them with pine boughs, take the coloured stones out of my glass candle holders and replace the stones with epsom salts(snow effect) and then I light the candles, and pray for snow!!!

Today I have my husbands computer monitor at the office turned toward my desk with Push in the dvd player.
I thought he was ridiculous when he wanted a 22 inch computer monitor, but now, I'm embracing the extravagance!!
