Add to that the coupon code 12933 which takes an additional 20% off and I'm buying the balaclava! I was already thinking I wanted one of these so I'm ecstatic to find it at this price. Thanks for posting MSL.

It's just so funny because yesterday I double layered with my balaclava and my powderfish gaitor. Unfortunately my balaclava isn't long enough so if I bring it up over my nose it exposes my neck. This morning I woke up thinking about my layering scheme for the day and was saying to myself that I really wanted the powderfish gaitor. Then I log on and this thread was here. It was a kismet I think! :yahoo:

Wow, thanks Ladies! I got the Powderfish Balaclava in my stocking this year but dh paid full price for it. I'm off to gather another one or two, I think I'll get a neck gaitor and the pf hat looks really cute.

Thanks for the post, MSL. One red powderfish neck gaitor is on its way to Michigan!

Man I wish I'd had this today. End of the day the wind came up so bad across the ridge that I couldn't see a thing and it was frigid!

Is the balaclava long enough to cover the nose? From the picture, it looks as though it covers to just above the lips.

Thanks for the info, MSL and Robyn. I picked up two, one for me and for H!

Well, to me it looks like their gaitor with the hood attached and my gaitor comes up nicely over my nose when I need it so i don't think it will be a problem. I think the stripe is just messing with you.

Thank you for the tip! I purchased these today. I have never owned my own gaiter before. . . :dancing:

Last time I went skiing I borrowed my boyfriend's half sister's. She is 8 years old so it was a little small!

So... I have a Smartwool gaiter, and a Neff fleece bandana. And tons of other bandanas.... whats so great about Powderfish that I should get one of these?

They're 2 layer and don't get wet as fast as single layer. Inner layer transfers moisture very well. (I generally wind up flipping mine around - turning it and/or upside down anyway over the course of the day) Your fleece-lined bandana probably does the same. Better wind blockage because of the layers as well. I know many bandana people who just prefer the flexibility of those. You're probably good with what you've already got?

OJ, I have the Smaratwool and a powderfish. I prefer the smartwool, as it is snugger to my face. None of these, smartwool, icebreaker, or powderfish get manky like traditional fleece gaiters. I think I prefer the smartwool because I like the natural fabric, as opposed to the synthetic. BUT, the powderfish is great and does the job. I'm not dogging on it, but if you have smartwool and like it, then stick with it.

Thanks for the tip ... I bought a couple for the kids. I recently bought a Smartwool gaiter -- of course I left it at home the last day I skied and was forced to use the fleece one, which I hate. I took it off by midday, even though it was frigid out.

I'm sure I'll try both and report back. I really don't like neck gaiters very much, but hopefully these thinner ones will work. I much prefer the ability to zip my coat up all the way, which I can't do with all that bulk around my neck.

Another big "THANK YOU" for the tip, MSL  I've been wanting a PF gaiter, but was waiting for a sale and/or coupon - this way, I was able to buy two!

Thanks for this code - it's still good! I just bought a bunch of their sale stuff including the balaclava, and with the coupon it was a steal!

Well, now I get to  on this deal....
Ordered my stuff on 12/26. As of yesterday, 1/5, none of it had shipped, and 2 e-mails were auto-answered to the question "when???" Next up is a phone call....
Can't imagine that a few dozen of us swamped the order system :noidea:.....but having gotten used to the likes of Steep and Cheap/Tramdock/Whiskey Militia, among others, who ship the next business day (and send an e-mail indicating so), THIS is taking TOO LONG

Darn it. Itri is having the same issue! I have already received mine. Definitely call and let us know how they handle it.
