In my pursuit of knowledge...do mountain bikes have women specific grips? I have large hands and never even thought of small grips. My kayak paddle is small shaft, but I have added comfort pads.

No, but you can find smaller diameter grips.

And all this talk about shorter poles, I know I cut mine down a few years ago and now have no idea how long they are.

I’m 5’2” and use 41” poles (just slightly under 105), which is hmm . . . 66% of my height! (never heard about the PSIA recommendation).

I generally have to buy 42s and take an inch off.

I think it’s better to err on the side of shorter rather than longer. Terrain also matters. If you ski any bumps at all - go with the shorter length.
