Please help with ski length

Can someone please advise me with the following:

I found a great deal on Dynastar Fluid Exclusive, but the shop only has one length, which is 158cm.

I am 5'4 and 145pds, and am an intermediate skier. I am fine on blue/red trails, but take black trails slowly. I also like to do a bit of off-piste. I really would like to purchase these skis, but am afraid that the length is too long for me.

I would really appreciate any comments on whether purchasing these skis would be a good fit for me or if it's really a bad idea.

Head Cool Thang and Head XRC 800, both at 149. I am looking to go longer.

I thought that 158 would be an ok length for me, but got confused by two different points of view I received from the ski shop. One man saying it was the perfect length for me and the other saying I should go with a shorter ski.

It depends on your preference. Personally, I like skis on the shorter end. I'm 5'4ish and 170ish, I ski on 158s and can be happy on shorter. If I were recommending a length for you, I'd say around 155 depending on the ski. I think you'd probably be fine in the 158s.

I have the Exclusive Legend in 158cm, and I'm 5'5" 130 lbs. The 158 should be right for you. Keep in mind that weight matters as much as height in terms of proper ski length.

Dynastars ski "short." They tend to be on the soft side, so this seemingly extra length will not only be unnoticeable in turns, you'll be glad you've got it for tracking stability. 158 will work for you at your height, weight, and ski level. I'm the unofficial "Dynastar Lady" around here - I've 5 pairs!
