Question: Pants: North face sizes & length?

Hey ladies!

So, I'm in the market for a new pair of pants (or two...). I'm looking at the North Face Freedom Boot Cut and the North Face Go-Go Cargo.

For anyone who has either of these, I have a few questions!

- Do they fit true to size? Is the waist tight?

- How is the length?

I am 5'7" and 115, which is where my problems arise. I have stupidly long legs but need small sizes, so my pants are always short & goofy-looking. I see that the Freedom comes in long lengths, which makes me super happy - but they're hardly available anywhere in the long. So I'm wondering if the regular length will do.

Any help is appreciated!

I wear the NF Freedom insulated pants (not the boot cut style) and I'm 5'7" though I weigh 30 lbs. more than you so. The boot cut ones run particularly long. I would go for a small in the boot cut, not the long length, but the regular. They are super easy to cinch in the waist. If the XS isn't much shorter, I suppose you could try those too, but you can always have the pants altered by a tailor too.

Good luck!

I LOVE my TNF LRBC Freedom pants!!! Love the waist adjustment tabs. With my weight loss journey it's part of why I bought them, so I can adjust for a season or two. The do fit close, although I'm much larger than you. But my friend who is tall and thin really likes the TNF fit as well.

I have two pair of the NF Freedom Pant, I have one women's reg. length and one pair men's short. I am guessing the men's sizes won't fit you but they do run longer than the women's. I would say waist size is pretty true to normal.

Thanks, ladies.

I went to a local shop today that had walls full of pants, yet not one single pair of North Face in a small or XS for me to try. :(

I'm ordering from Backcountry because I have a coupon, so I think I'll just order a small regular and keep my fingers crossed. I really like the idea of the waist tabs - I can't stand when the waist is too tight! So I think I'm better off going slightly bigger and adjusting. Chances are I'll get slightly bigger, too, so that should be perfect. :ROTF:

BTW, I tried on a pair of kjus pants today and looooved them. They were perfect and very comfy. Unfortunately, I tried them on without looking at the price tag first. Holymotherofgod, how could a pair of pants cost almost $500? Unbelievable!

Just a heads up -- I'm 5'1" and 110 lbs, and I ordered these from Backcountry.com in a size small and they were really too big. I had to send them back and re-order them in an XS, which is MUCH better. But that's me........

Oh no! Hmmm. Sierra has an XS long in the TNF Freedom. Maybe I should grab 'em while I can...

This is sort of personal, but do you know your waist size? I haven't measured myself in a long time, but I think I remember measuring my wasit as 25-26" or so. My hip is only 32", though. I'm sort of boy-shaped, not a lot of taper to me. Ah jeez, now I'm not sure what to do! This is why I've always had a hard time shopping for anything, haha. Oh well. I suppose if I have to return, I have to return. Thanks for the info!

Just measured myself: waist is 26-1/2", hips are 33".

You better get the XS.

Update!

I feel the need to RAVE wildly about my new pants. I got them today and LOVE them. What a great fit. They are completely what I was looking for - I'm thrilled! :bounce:

Thanks again to all the nesties that helped me with size info. They fit perfectly - I definitely needed the XS. Yay!
